MANHATTAN, Kan. - Beverly Ramos will look to cap off a highly-successful cross country career as a Wildcat with a strong outing at the NCAA Championship on Monday. Ramos will take to the course in Terre Haute, Ind., for her second consecutive NCAA Championship appearance as the women's race is scheduled to begin at 11:58 a.m. With her 6K time of 20:55.9 at the Midwest Regional Championships, Ramos earned an individual spot at the NCAA Championship.

Ramos is the first female K-State runner to have back-to-back NCAA Championship appearances since Amy Mortimer accomplished the feat in 2001 and 2002. Ramos finished 55th out of 252 other competitors at the championship meet last season.

Ramos has been a key runner for the Wildcat women this season as she led the way for her teammates in five consecutive outings, including five top 10 finishes. She finished first place at the Missouri State Classic and South Dakota State Invitational.

Ramos was honored as the women's Big 12 Runner of the Week by the league office on September 22 after her impressive performance at the Missouri State Classic. Adding to her accomplishments, Ramos also earned All-Big 12 and All-Regional recognitions this season.

The NCAA Championship field will prove to be the most competitive Ramos has faced all season as it is comprised of the top 31 teams in Division I and includes 37 other individuals that were selected through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process. All individual qualifiers finished in the top 25 in their respective regions.

Ramos hopes to use the familiar course to her advantage as she will return to the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center, where her 6K time of 20:36.3 helped her finish sixth at the Pre-National Invitational in October.
