One of the nation’s premiere pass rushers... An All-America, national award (Bednarik, Hendricks, Lombardi, Nagurski) and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year candidate... A two-time team captain and team leader who possesses outstanding speed and plays with tremendous determination.

2007: Named a first team All-Big 12 linebacker by the league’s coaches and second team All-Big 12 linebacker by the Associated Press, the Kansas City Star and the Waco Tribune-Herald... Currently ranks sixth all-time at K-State with 16 career sacks... Tied for third in school history with seven fumble recoveries... Started all 12 games at either end or linebacker... Recorded 45 tackles, including a team-best 11 tackles for loss... Led the Big 12 with four fumble recoveries, which also was one shy of the school record... Recorded a season-high eight tackles at Fresno State... Registered three tackles, including one sack, against Missouri... Had three tackles, including two for losses, at Nebraska... Made six stops, including 0.5 for loss and one fumble recovery against Colorado... Collected five tackles, three for losses, one sack and one pass break up against Kansas... Had two tackles and sparked the Wildcats at Texas as he took a second-quarter interception 41 yards for a touchdown... It was K-State’s first interception return for a touchdown since Oct. 28 of last season... Collected two tackles and recovered his fourth-career fumble against Missouri State... Collected six tackles against San Jose State and recorded one sack for a loss of 12 yards... Recorded four tackles, including 2.5 for loss and 0.5 sacks in his first action at linebacker against Auburn.

2006: One of five Wildcats to start all 13 games... Earned consensus first team All-Big 12 honors from the league’s coaches, The Associated Press, Kansas City Star, Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News... Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year by the Houston Chronicle... Semi-finalist for the Hendricks Award... Honorable metion All-American by CNN/SI.com... Finished third on the team in total tackles with 67 and led the Wildcats in both tackles for losses (17.5) and sacks (11.5)... Tackle total ranked No. 1 among all Big 12 defensive linemen... Led the Big 12 and ranked 18th nationally in tackles for losses... Sack total tied the K-State single-season record, while ranking No. 2 in the Big 12 and 10th nationally... Also ranked third in the Big 12 with three fumble recoveries in conference games... Collected at least one sack in 9-of-13 games... Totaled five or more tackles eight times... Had a tremendous opener against Illinois State with eight tackles, five for losses of 21 yards, and a career-high three sacks to earn Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors... Collected a career-high nine tackles (seven solo), including a 6-yard sack, and recovered a fumble at Missouri... Made eight tackles, two for losses with a sack, against Nebraska... Credited with two sacks and seven tackles vs. Louisville... Also had seven tackles and a TFL in the Texas Bowl vs. Rutgers... Totaled six tackles with a sack against Oklahoma State... Had six stops, three for losses, and one sack against Marshall...  Credited for only five tackles in win over Texas, but also had an 11-yard sack and recovered two fumbles... Earned a scholarship following spring drills.

2005: Appeared in 10-of-11 games... Totaled seven tackles... Recorded two stops vs. both North Texas and Colorado... Blocked a punt vs. Missouri that was returned for a score... Earned team’s Purple Pride award as the top walk-on, displaying quality play, leadership and work ethic.

2004: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Cimarron High School... Earned All-Hi Plains league, all-area, Hutchinson all-area 3A top 11 and 3A all-state honorable mention honors as a junior linebacker... Received all-league, all-area, Hutchinson all-area 3A Top 11 and honorable mention all-state honors at linebacker as a senior... Set the career tackle record for Cimarron with 324 tackles... Also lettered three years in basketball.

PERSONAL: Ian Cade Campbell was born May 15, 1985, in Garden City, Kan... Son of Curtis and Audrey Campbell... Brother, Jared Jarragin, was a two-year starter at Wyoming... Has five siblings... Enjoys lifting weights and riding motorcycles... Social science major.
