Kansas State leads the all-time series with Arkansas, 3-1... K-State won the last meeting with the Razorbacks, 65-56, on Dec. 6, 2008 in the championship game of the Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic in Manhattan... This will be K-State's second trip to Fayetteville and the first since Jan. 2, 1982, a 68-53 win by Arkansas... K-State is 10-15 (.400) against schools from the SEC... Against schools from the state of Arkansas, the Wildcats are 8-5 (.615).

At a Glance: Arkansas
Arkansas (4-1) returns to Fayetteville following a holiday trip to the Caribbean Challenge in Cancun, Mexico. The Razorbacks defeated Iona (66-60) and Western Kentucky (69-51) during its stay south of the border.

The Razorbacks are led by third-year head coach Tom Collen. The 1977 graduate of Bowling Green has guided Arkansas to a 39-28 (.582) record, including an appearance in the second round of the Postseason WNIT in 2009.

On the court, Arkansas is led by senior guard Charity Ford and sophomore guard Lyndsay Harris. Ford, the 2009 SEC Sixth Woman of the Year, has paced the Razorbacks in a starting role this season 13.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Against Western Kentucky, Ford led the Razorbacks with 16 points.

Harris is averaging 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and a team-leading 5.2 assists. Against Western Kentucky, Harris registered 15 points and six rebounds.

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State will begin a busy week by finishing a three-game road trip at Arkansas on Wednesday night. K-State will make its first appearance in Fayetteville in 27 years. Following the game at Arkansas, the Wildcats will host the 15th Annual Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic on Friday and Saturday.

Wednesday's contest can be found on the K-State Sports Network, as the award-winning Brian Smoller provides the play-by-play and former Wildcat Kristin Waller delivers the color analysis.

K-State closed out the month of November with its first road win of the season, a 65-62 decision over BYU on Nov. 27.

The Wildcats used a comeback in each half to secure the win over the Cougars. In the first half, K-State finished the stanza on a 16-3 run to hold the advantage at the break. After BYU clawed to an eight-point second half lead, K-State used a 10-2 run to take a 43-42 lead with 13:33 to play.

K-State was led by senior forward and Naismith Trophy candidate Ashley Sweat with 18 points. The K-State attack was also bolstered by freshmen guards Taelor Karr and Brittany Chambers with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Karr shot a career-high 5-of-8 from the field, including a career-best 3-of-4 from beyond the 3-point line. Karr also tallied a career-high six rebounds and dished four assists.

Chambers finished the game 6-of-9 from the field and 2-of-2 from the 3-point line. She also iced the game for the Wildcats with a pair of free throws in the closing seconds.

For the season, Sweat leads the Wildcats with 17.0 points per game and 7.2 rebounds. Joining Sweat with a double figure scoring average is senior Kari Kincaid at 12.0 and Chambers at 11.4 per game.

Streaks, Trends, Milestones, etc.
K-State has made at least one 3-point field goal in 80 consecutive games, dating back to Feb. 7, 2007... At BYU on Nov. 27, K-State made 10 three-point field goals, the most since making 10 against Central Arkansas on Jan. 3, 2009... Patterson in 14th Season at K-State
Deb Patterson, the all-time winningest women's basketball coach and the longest tenured women's basketball coach in Kansas State history, has a career record of 267-149 (.642) and a record of 114-94 (.548) in the Big 12, including Big 12 regular season titles during the 2003-04 and 2007-08 seasons.

Following the 2007-08 season, Patterson was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year by the league's coaches and a number of media outlets. She also garnered national consideration, finishing as the Russell Athletic/WBCA Region V Coach of the Year and a finalist for the WBCA and Associated Press National Coach of the Year honors.

Patterson has steered the Wildcats to eight consecutive postseason appearances, including a trip to the NCAA Mideast Regional Semifinals in 2002, the 2006 WNIT Postseason crown and a second round trip during the 2008 NCAA Tournament. She is the only current head coach at K-State to guide his/her team to eight straight postseason appearances.

While guiding the Wildcats to eight straight postseason appearances, Patterson has defended the floor in Bramlage Coliseum successfully during this time, posting a 152-42 (.784) record at home including an 81-8 (.910) record against non-conference opponents.

Wildcats on the Road; Set record For Road Wins
K-State has a 226-223 (.503) record in road games during the program's 42-year history. During the 21st century, K-State owns a 66-43 (.606) mark in road contests and are 83-77 (.519) during Deb Patterson's 14 seasons on the K-State bench.

K-State notched a 10-5 (.667) record  on the road last season to break the previous school record of nine (1982-83 and 2001-02). Dating back to the 2007-08 season, the Wildcats have won 19 of their last 25 away contests.

Cats Protect the House Against Non-Con Foes
Entering the 22nd season of action inside Bramlage Coliseum, Kansas State has protected its home floor with determination against non-conference foes with a record of 118-21 (.849) record.

In the Deb Patterson era, the Wildcats have been even better with a record of 81-8 (.910).

Wildcats in the Purple Palace
K-State has enjoyed the friendly confines of Bramlage Coliseum entering its 22nd season of existence with a record of 222-81 (.733). During the last 10 seasons, K-State is 123-32 (.794) in Bramlage Coliseum including a 13-1 record in 2008-09. In Big 12 home contests, the Wildcats are 70-34 (.673).

The 12th Month is the Best Month for Patterson
As the calendar rolls into the final month of 2008, the Wildcats will enter December with a mark of 178-73 (.709) during the program's history. The 12th month, statistically, has been the best month during the Deb Patterson era, as K-State has registered a 74-14 (.841) mark in December.

Halftime Lead = K-State 'W' Since 1999-00
Having the edge after the first 20 minutes of action has proven to be prophetic since the 1999-00 season, as K-State is 180-25 (.878) when leading at the break.

During the last two-plus seasons, K-State owns a 48-4 (.923) record when leading with five minutes to play.

Wildcats Hot From Downtown
During the last two games, the Wildcats have had a hot hand from beyond the 3-point line, as K-State is 18-of-31 (.581) from deep in the last two games. This includes performances of 8-of-12 (.667) at Creighton and 10-of-19 (.526) at BYU.

The 10 connections from beyond the arc against the Cougars were the most since K-State hit 10 against Central Arkansas on Jan. 3, 2009.

The Wildcats rank third in the Big 12 in 3-point field goal percentage at .451 and are tied for third in the league in 3-point field goals made per game at 7.4. Leading the way is freshman guard Brittany Chambers at 11-of-17 (.647) from three-point range, while junior guard Shalin Spani is 7-of-19 (.368) and senior guard Kari Kincaid is 7-of-22 (.318). Chambers is currently perfect on her last six attempts from the arc, which is a span of two games.

Sweat is Offensive and Defensive
Ashley Sweat has opened the 2009-10 season by improving her place on the K-State career scoring list with 85 points in the first five games (17.0 ppg). Sweat's career total now stands at 1,376 points to rank ninth in school history. Sweat, a Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award candidate, ranks seventh in the Big 12 in points per game. She has scored in 104 career games, which is every game of her career. She has also scored in double figures in 75 career games and has four career games with 30 or more points.

Her latest 30-point effort came against Washington State, as Sweat carded a new career-high with 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting. The point total was the highest by a Wildcat since Kendra Wecker scored a school record 41 against Illinois State on Nov. 26, 2004.  The 33 points rank tied for 11th in school history for a single game and is the second-highest point total by any player in the Big 12 this season.

Sweat is Defensive
To go along with her 16 points against Indiana State on Nov. 14, Sweat tallied a pair of blocked shots to move into 10th on K-State's career blocked shots list with 54. She is the seventh player in school history to record 1,000 points and 50 blocks in a career.

Sweat Climbs Career Rebounding List 
Ashley Sweat has improved her career rebounding total after the first five games of the season, as she has snared 36 rebounds (7.2 rpg) and ranks 10th in the Big 12 in rebounds per game. Sweat's career rebounding total ranks 27th in school history with 477 boards. Her 11 rebounds against Washington State tied her career-high of 11 at Colorado on Jan. 31, 2007. The double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds by Sweat was the first of her career.

The product of McPherson, Kan., averaged a career-high 5.1 rebounds per contest and had 20 games with five or more rebounds in the 2008-09 season.

Last season, Sweat became the 25th player in school history to register 1,000 points (1,376) and 400 rebounds (477) in her career.

No Sweat for Sweat at the Foul Line 
Ashley Sweat has continued her strong performance from the charity stripe from a season ago, as she has started the 2009-10 season 30-of-36 (.833) from the foul line. She ranks tied for 8th in the Big 12 in free throw percentage. She has currently made seven straight free throw attempts.

Last season, Sweat made and attempted a team-high 132-of-158 (.835). She was the first player to make 100 free throws in a season since Nicole Ohlde made 136 during the 2003-04 season. Her total of 132 made free throws this season ranks fourth in school history. Sweat finished the season ranked fourth in the Big 12 and 39th in the nation in free throw percentage this season. She also set the school record for consecutive free throws made with 33.

For her career, Sweat is 316-of-412 (.767) from the free throw line. Her career total of free throws made ranks sixth in school history. She is the seventh player in school history to make 300 or more free throws in her career.

She also ranks ninth in school history for career free throw percentage (.767) and ninth for free throws attempted.

Kincaid Kaboom
Kari Kincaid has provided the Wildcats with a consistent scoring option from the perimeter in the first five games, as she is averaging 12.0 points per game. Her 16 points in the season-opener against Indiana State was her highest point total since Nov. 23, 2008 against UTSA when she tallied 17 points.

Against Washington State, Kincaid tied her career-high for assists with six and ranks 14th in the Big 12 with 3.5 assists per game.

The product of Andover, Kan., ranks ninth in school history for career 3-point field goals attempted with 325. She needs just three 3-point field goals made to tie for 10th in that category (109).

With the two makes from distance in three of the five games, Kincaid now has 31 career games with two or more made three-point field goals.  

Last season, Kincaid was K-State's top 3-point shooter, as she made a career-high 59 and was ranked fifth in the Big 12 in three-point field goal percentage at .371.

Karr Races To Career-Highs 
Freshman Taelor Karr improved her career-high for points and rebounds for a second straight game in K-State's first road win of the season. The 5-8 guard from Paola, Kan., has averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the first two road games of her career. She is 5-of-6 from the 3-point line and .643 from the field in the two games.

Karr recorded career-highs of 17 points, including 14 in the first half, and six rebounds at BYU. She also dished out four assists, was a career-best 3-of-4 from the 3-point line and tied her career-high with three steals.

At Creighton on Nov. 23, Karr tallied 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, hauled in five rebounds and tallied two steals.
 
Chambers Knocking Them in From Deep
Freshman Brittany Chambers has made her mark from beyond the 3-point line early in her first season with the Wildcats. Through the first five games, Chambers is 11-of-17 (.647) from beyond the arc and ranks fourth in the Big 12 in three-point field goal percentage and ninth for 3-point field goals made per game at 2.2. She currently owns a streak of six straight makes from the 3-point line.

Chambers has tallied a pair of games this season with four connections from beyond the arc, as she was 4-of-6 against Arkansas State and 4-of-4 at Creighton. She is the first freshman to make four or more three-point attempts in two games since Laurie Koehn achieved the feat 16 times in the 2001-02 season.

Chambers Finds Bottom of Net
Freshman Brittany Chambers has provided a boost from the K-State bench, as she has scored in double figures in three of her first five career games in a K-Sate uniform. She is K-State's third-leading scorer (11.4 ppg) and ranks 13th in the Big 12 in field goal percentage at .563 (18-of-32).

In her second career game, the product of Belle Plaine, Minn., recorded a career-high 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, including a career-best 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. The four connections from deep were the most by a K-State freshman since Laurie Koehn was 5-of-10 in the first round of the 2002 NCAA Tournament against Kent State on March 15, 2002. Her four makes were the most by a Wildcat since Kari Kincaid was 4-of-10 against Colorado in the first round of the 2009 Big 12 Tournament on March 12, 2009.

The 20 points by Chambers was the first time a K-State freshman has led the Wildcats in scoring since Jalana Childs carded 14 points against Oklahoma State on Feb. 15. It was the highest total single-game total by a freshman since Ashley Sweat tallied 31 points at Wyoming in the Postseason WNIT on March 28, 2007.

Chambers leads the Wildcats in points per game on the road at 15.0 per game and is a perfect 6-of-6 from 3-point range in road contests. At Creighton, Chambers tallied 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting including 4-of-4 from beyond the 3-point line. At BYU, she was 6-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc, for 16 points.

Sweet Childs of Mine 
Sophomore Jalana Childs has provided K-State with an inside presence to match Ashley Sweat in the first five games of the season. Against the Sycamores in the opener, Childs carded a career-high-tying 14 points and also tied her career-best for field goals made with six. She also attempted a career-high 16 field goals and set a career-best for assists with four.

In the second game of the season against Arkansas State, Childs tallied 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting and sent back the first two blocked shots of her career.

The double-digit scoring efforts were the fourth and fifth of her career.

For the season, Childs is averaging 6.6 points per game and is averaging 3.8 rebounds.

What Brown is Doing for Us
Sophomore Branshea Brown has provided K-State with an interior rebounding presence for the Wildcats in the first five games this season.

Brown is averaging 2.2 points and 5.2 rebounds in 18.4 minutes per game. The product of Walterboro, S.C., has blocked four shots in the last two games and has three career games with multiple blocks.

At Creighton, Brown scored three points and pulled down a personal season-high seven rebounds. She also tied her career-high with two blocked shots.

Against Washington State, Brown registered four points, six rebounds and a blocked shot in a career-high 25 minutes of action.

In the second game of the season against Arkansas State, Brown hauled in seven rebounds and also scored four points.

Shalin's Show
Junior guard Shalin Spani provided a boost to the K-State offense during her first career start in the season-opener against Indiana State on Nov. 14.

The native of Lee's Summit, Mo., turned in a career-high 38 minutes of action which resulted in 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting, including a career-high 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. She is tied for seventh in the Big 12 in 3-point field goals made per game at 2.0.

In her career, Spani has 10 games with two or more connections from the 3-point line.

Last season, Spani's season was cut short due to a knee injury but she averaged 3.9 points in 25 games played.
