2009 Spring Game Fan Fest

Annual Celebration Returns with Free Concert, Inflatable Carnival and more

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State Athletics and the Wildcat football program will host the annual Spring Game Fan Fest Weekend on Saturday which will feature such activities as a department-wide blowout sale, an inflatable carnival, a free concert in Cat Town and the centerpiece of the weekend – the 2009 Purple/White scrimmage.

Also, a pair of K-State spring traditions, the 25th annual editions of the Powercat Golf Tournament and the athletics department’s Powercat Auction, will take place on Friday. The golf tournament will tee off with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. at Colbert Hills, while doors for the auction will open at 5:30 p.m. at Bramlage Coliseum.

Saturday’s events get underway at 10 a.m. with a department-wide blowout sale which will take place in the Brandeberry Indoor facility until 3 p.m. The event will give Wildcat fans the opportunity to purchase items such as DVD's, promotional items, old jersey's and uniforms, athletic apparel, athletic equipment, autographed memorabilia, old stadium pieces, among other items, at blowout prices.

The inflatable carnival, which will be located in the Football Indoor Practice Facility, will run from 11 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. Fans interested in attending the carnival will need to sign a waiver and show their spring game ticket for participation.

A free concert, presented by KansasStateCars.com and headlined by Capitol Nashville Recording Artist Luke Bryan, will be held from 12:30 – 2:45 p.m. The opening act will perform at 12:30 p.m. before Bryan, whose hits include “All My Friends Say” and “Country Man,” takes the stage around 1:20 p.m. This event is free and a spring game ticket is not needed for admittance. The gates in the Cat Town area will open at 12 p.m., and Ramblers and R.C. McGraws will have food and beer available for purchase.

Tickets for K-State’s 2009 Spring Game are priced at $5 for all fans, while a complimentary ticket is also included with the purchase of a 2009 season ticket. Children under the age of two will be admitted at no charge.

Tickets for the game will be sent out via email to all season ticket holders and fans may also purchase tickets to the game at the K-State Athletics Ticket Office as well as at the west side ticket booth of the stadium on gameday, beginning at 11 a.m. Season ticket holders should have a valid email address on file with the ticket office to ensure ticket delivery. For those interested in receiving their spring game tickets by mail, a $10 service charge will be added.

Parking for the event is free and both the west and east lots of the stadium will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The gates for entrance into the stadium will open at 1 p.m.

Also of note, there will be no autograph session following the 2009 spring game, but fans will have that opportunity during fall training camp.

Non-profit organizations in and around the Manhattan area are invited to set up a booth to promote their organization to K-State fans during the Spring Game Fan Fest.
