A solid possession receiver who came into his own and emerged as the Wildcats’ No. 2 target as a junior... Enters camp as one of K-State’s starting wide outs.

 

2003 (Junior): Saw action in all 15 games with 12 starts... Ranked second on the team in both receptions (29) and receiving yards (409)... Burst on the scene in the last nine games after a slow start, making 27 catches for 370 yards... Recorded just one catch in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl vs. Ohio State (1/2), but made it count, hauling in a 31-yard reception... Had two grabs for 43 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown catch that was the first of his career, vs. Oklahoma (12/6) in the Big 12 Championship game... Had a team-leading three catches for 31 yards vs. Missouri (11/22)... Posted a career day at Nebraska (11/15), tying or breaking career highs for receptions (5) and yards (54)... Led the team with three catches for 40 yards at Iowa State (11/8)... Had two catches for 41 yards against Baylor (11/1)... Led with four receptions for 45 yards against Kansas (10/25)... Hauled in five catches for 52 yards against Colorado (10/18)... Had two catches for 33 yards against Oklahoma State (10/11)... Had a career-long 36-yard grab vs. Troy State (8/30).

 

2002 (Sophomore): Played in eight games during the season... First two catches of his college career came in season’s second game vs. Louisiana-Monroe (9/7)... Gained 14 yards on the two receptions.

2001 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in one game.... Saw action as a reserve wideout vs. New Mexico State (9/22)... Served on the scout team offense.

 

2000 (Freshman): Redshirt season.

 

Indianola HS: Was a two-year starter and three-year letterman for the Indians... Also earned letters in track and basketball... Earned first team Elite All-State, first team All-Central Iowa Metro League by Des Moines Register in 1998 and 1999... First team All-CIML by coaches in 1999... First team all-state by coaches in 1999 ... All-county honors in 1998 and 1999... No. 2 wide receiver, and No. 13 prospect, in state of Iowa by First Down Recruiting... Indianola MVP in 1999... Selected to play in Shrine Bowl all-star game... Had 60 catches for 771 yards and 14 touchdowns in 1999 to set school and conference records... Ended high school career with 90 receptions and 26 touchdowns... High school coach was Dave Summy.

 

Personal: Born June 26, 1982... Parents are Fritz and Janna Polite... Father is a semipro football coach in Europe... A marketing major who aspires to work in marketing and promotions in the NFL after his football career.
