A tough-blocking fullback who has been a force throughout his career in short-yardage situations, especially around the goal-line... Listed as K-State’s No. 2 fullback, but is considered one of the top players at that position in the Big 12.

 

2004 (Junior): Earned playing time in all 11 games at both fullback and on special teams... Recorded two carries for seven yards and a pair of receptions for 10 yards... Had first carry of the season for a two-yard first-down run vs. Louisiana-Lafayette (9/18)... Hauled in two passes for 10 yards, with one catch each against Western Kentucky (9/4) and Fresno State (9/11)... Recorded three kickoff returns for 22 yards at Texas A&M (10/2)... Carried the ball for the second time against Nebraska (10/23) for a five yard gain.

 

2003 (Sophomore): Saw action in 14 games at fullback... Had 14 carries for 51 yards... Finished third on the team in rushing touchdowns with four... Had at least one carry in nine games... Had two carries for just one yard, including a three-yard touchdown that was the 12th of his career, in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl vs. Ohio State (1/2)... Scored his third touchdown of the season and 11th of his career with a six-yard run at Nebraska (11/15)... Rushed twice for 10 yards vs. the Huskers... Totaled four yards on two rushes against Iowa State (11/8)... Had a 1-yard score against Baylor (11/1)... Turned in four yards against Colorado (10/18)... Tallied a four-yard score at  Oklahoma State (10/11)... Had one rush for a career-tying long 13 yards against Massachusetts (9/13).

 

2002 (Redshirt Freshman): Earned the Anthony Bates Hang Clean Award in the spring... Played in 11 games... K-State’s fourth-leading rusher with 130 yards on 39 carries, averaging 3.3 yards per carry on the year... Eight rushing touchdowns ranked third on the team... Ranked fourth in scoring with 48 points... Had at least one carry in 10 games... His first three collegiate touches were each 2-yard TD runs... Scored a pair of touchdowns in the season-opener against Western Kentucky (8/31)... Also had a TD vs. Louisiana-Monroe (9/7)... Totaled career highs in both carries (11) and yards (46) against Eastern Illinois (9/14)... Scored first career Big 12 touchdown from four yards out vs. Oklahoma State (10/12)... Tallied touchdown runs in three straight games against Baylor (10/26), Kansas (11/2) and Iowa State (11/9)... Posted 38 yards on nine carries with one touchdown at Missouri (11/23), including a season-long 13-yard run.

 

2001 (Freshman): Redshirt season.

 

Highland HS: Considered to be one of the top fullback prospects in the nation as a prep... All-America selection by SuperPrep... Ranked the No. 2 high-school prospect from New Jersey by SuperPrep magazine... Member of PrepStar magazine “Dream Team”... Listed as 44th-best high school prospect in nation by SuperPrep... New Jersey All-State pick... All-South Jersey all-star selection... Three-year starter and letterwinner and two-time All-Olympic Conference pick... Rushed for 1,335 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior, averaging 7.5 yards per carry... Team’s player of the year as a junior and senior... Recorded a 30-carry, 328-yard effort with four touchdowns against Rancocas Valley...  Also lettered three years in track and field.

 

Personal: Born Dec. 23, 1982, in Stratford, N.J... Parents are Abiola and Ayo Saba, Sr... A social science major... Name is pronounced “EYE-oh  SAH-bah.”
