A heady player who possesses good speed and a great attitude... Voted a player rep by his teammates.

2008: Played in all 12 games as a defensive captain, starting four at free safety... Was fifth on the team in tackles with 53 total, 37 unassisted and 16 assisted... Led the team with nine stops vs. Oklahoma... Collected four tackles and two pass breakups at Texas A&M... Turned in a season-high 11 stops at Louisville... Had one blocked punt return for a touchdown and registered five tackles, including one for a loss and one breakup, against Montana State.

2007: Appeared in all 12 games, starting nine at safety... Was fifth on the team in tackles with 64 total... Recorded three or more tackles in 10 games... Tied for eighth in the Big 12 and was 60th nationally with four interceptions... Three of his four interceptions came within a two-game span... Collected 13 tackles at Nebraska and Fresno State... Picked off his fourth pass of the season against Baylor... Carded a career-best seven stops at Oklahoma State... Had one pick against Colorado... Recorded the first two interceptions of his career against Kansas... Recorded five tackles against Texas... Had two of his 3.5 tackles for loss against San Jose State... Honorable mention All-Big 12 selection.

2006: Earned playing time in the final three games of the season and played extensively in the regular-season finale at Kansas...  Collected five total tackles... Also had a pass break-up.

HIGH SCHOOL: Started three seasons at Mullen High School... Two-time All-Centennial League selection... Received first team Class 5A all-state honors from both the Rocky Mountain News and the Denver Post as a senior... Was also a 2005 all-Colorado (all divisions) selection by the Post... Tapped as Rival’s No. 48 cornerback prospect nationally… Also Rivals’ No. 13 overall prospect in the state of Colorado... Collected 136 tackles and six interceptions as a senior, helping Mullen to an 11-3 record and a berth in the 5A state title game... Totaled 110 tackles and four interception as a junior and helped lead Mullen to the Colorado 5A state championship... Had 99 stops and three picks as a sophomore... Coached by Dave Logan... Also competed in track & field as a prep.

PERSONAL: Christopher Kelly Carney was born Nov. 7, 1987, in Denver, Colo... Parents are April and Ruben Williams... Has two brothers and two sisters... Cousin of former Wildcat great Dyshod Carter.
