Returning starter and one of the Big 12’s top cover corners... Is one of the fastest Wildcats and possesses sub-4.3 speed... The Sporting News calls him the Big 12’s “fastest defensive back”... A proven play-maker with five interceptions during 2003... Voted by his teammates as a player representative during the spring.

 

2003 (Junior): Selected honorable mention All-Big 12 by The Associated Press... Appeared in all 15 games at cornerback, starting each of the last 11 contests... Ranked 12th overall and fourth among defensive backs with 39 tackles, including two for a loss... Also had six pass break-ups and five interceptions... Had a stellar game in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl vs. Ohio State (1/2), picking off two Craig Krenzel passes, including one in the end zone that halted a potential touchdown drive... Also credited with two solo tackles vs. the Buckeyes... Made two solo tackles and had a break-up in the Big 12 Championship game vs. Oklahoma (12/6)... Recorded five tackles, including four solos and one for loss, against Missouri (11/22) along with one break-up... Snatched his third interception of the season at Nebraska (11/15) to go with four tackles and one break-up... Also had an interception at Iowa State (11/8), along with three tackles and a break-up... Had two stops against Baylor (11/1)... Turned in a career-high six tackles against Kansas (10/25), including four solo stops... Credited with three tackles against Colorado (10/18)... Notched his first career interception against Oklahoma State (10/11) to go with four tackles... Had three stops against Texas (10/4), but was one of two primary cover men for Longhorn All-American wideout Roy Williams, who was held to just three catches for 22 yards, nearly 75 yards under his average... Registered three tackles in his first start against Marshall (9/20), including one for loss.

 

Garden City CC: Ranked 15th by Rivals.com on its non-high school rankings... Ranked 12th on SuperPrep JuCo 100... Preseason All-America pick by NJCAA prior to 2002... Member of PrepStar JuCo Top 125... Second team All-Jayhawk Conference honoree... Had seven interceptions as a freshman for the Broncbusters and finished career with 12... Had 12 pass breakups as a sophomore... Started two seasons for coach Bob Larson.

 

Olympic Heights HS: All-State as wide receiver... Led Palm Beach County in catches and receiving yards as a senior... Started for three seasons... Qualified for state high school championships in 4x100 relay, long jump and triple jump... Also lettered in basketball.

 

Personal: Born Oct. 1, 1979, in Delray Beach, Fla... Mother is Alma Williams... Enjoys music and poetry... A social science major... Also considered Mississippi State, South Carolina, Kansas, UCF and UNLV.
