High School: Earned many recognitions during his career at Jetmore High School... Freshman year received all-league second team for the SPIAA Conference as a defensive back... As a sophomore earned first team all-league honors as a running back and defensive back, all-state honorable mention, first team all area by the Dodge City Globe, third team all-elite by the Hutchinson News... Junior year earned first team all-league honors as a running back and defensive back, first team all-area by the Dodge City Globe, first team elite 8 by the Hutchinson News and first team all-state as a linebacker... As a senior, received first team all-league as a running back, linebacker and kicker, first team all-state as a linebacker, first team all-area by the Dodge City Globe, first team Elite 8 by the Hutchinson News, Wichita Eagle named him to its first team, Defensive Player of the Year by the Hutchinson News and was selected to play in the 8-man all-star game and Shrine Bowl games... Also lettered in basketball (2) and track & field (4), helping the Jetmore boys track team to state championships in 2001 and 2003.
