Big-time athlete who has played both wide receiver and running back during his first two seasons... Will have a big impact on the offensive side of the ball this season.

2008: Played in nine games in his sophomore season and made six starts... Started the season playing wide receiver but then moved to running back, where he made his first start in the backfield against the University of Louisiana, tallying 29 rushes for 137 yards and one score... His 29 carries were the most in nearly three years by a Wildcat and were the second most in the Big 12 this season... He also became K-State’s first 100-yard rusher of the season... Also hauled in a career-best five catches for 36 yards vs. Louisiana... Collected a career-high three rushing touchdowns at Kansas, the most by a K-State RB since James Johnson had three vs. Missouri State in 2007... Lead the team with 118 total rushing attempts while gaining 412 yards and five touchdowns... Had 24 grabs on the season totaling 178 yards and one touchdown.

2007: Saw action in eight games as a true freshman and made one start at wide receiver at Oklahoma State... Totaled three catches for 33 yards on the season... Saw his first-career action at home against San Jose State and caught his first career pass for eight yards the following week against Missouri State... Grabbed two receptions for 25 yards and made three special teams tackles against Colorado... Had eight special teams tackles on the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Started all four years at Hazelwood West and was a two-time consensus Class 6 all-state performer by the Missouri Coaches Association, the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association and the Kansas City Star... Also named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro team in both 2005 and 2006... A standout performer at wide receiver and running back as well as defensive back... Ended his senior season with 584 yards on 92 carries (6.35 avg.)... Scored 13 of West’s 20 touchdowns... Also caught three passes for 51 yards (17.0 avg.) and accounted for 44 percent of Hazelwood’s total yards (800 of 1,814) during his senior season... Returned five kickoffs for 165 yards (33.0 avg)... Totaled 42 total tackles on defense, with 36 unassisted stops, three blocked field goals, two blocked punts and a fumble recovery... Played in the prestigious East Meets West All-American Bowl in Orlando, Fla., following his senior season... Rushed for 1,249 yards and 21 TDs during his junior campaign, while hauling in six receptions for 103 yards... Recorded 55 tackles three interceptions and a fumble recovery in 2005... Coached by Keith Herring... Also lettered in track & field and qualified for the 2006 Missouri State Track Meet in the long jump, 4x100, and 4x200.

PERSONAL: Lamark Brown II was born July 5, 1989, in Anchorage, Alaska... Son of Lamark and Angela Brown... Sister, Lakrisha, played basketball at Morehead State.
