Kansas State currently has three former walk-ons playing in the National Football League: Rock Cartwright,
Jon McGraw and Jordy Nelson
Head Coach Bill Snyder has always maintained a strong reputation for evaluating and developing talent and K-State’s rich walk-on tradition and the success of those student-athletes solidifies that claim. Over the years, K-State has seen a large number of student-athletes from the state of Kansas and from across the country head to K-State as a walk-on and later flourish in the program. In fact, K-State currently has three former walk-ons playing in the National Football League in Jordy Nelson, Jon McGraw and Rock Cartwright.
Most recently, Ian Campbell arrived at K-State as a walk-on and left five years later as a three-time All-Big 12 performer. Also, senior linebacker and team captain Alex Hrebec earned Freshman All-America honors in 2008 after coming on to the scene as a walk-on, while William Powell led the nation in kick returns last season.
