MANHATTAN, Kan. - Tami Breymeyer, Kansas State's Director of Trademark Licensing, has been selected to the International Collegiate Licensing Association (ICLA) board of directors and will serve a four-year appointment through 2017, the organization has announced.

Breymeyer, a member of the ICLA since 2006, oversees the brand protection of all Kansas State University trademarks. Included among her job responsibilities are developing relationships with licensees, sales representatives and retailers to help increase additional sales of K-State merchandise both regionally and nationally.

Breymeyer, who also is on the board of directors for the Collegiate Licensed Properties Association, approves licensing requests and artwork and aids retailers in how and where to best place K-State merchandise. She also assists and educates university departments, student groups, the K-State Foundation and the K-State Alumni Association in branding and utilizing licensed vendors for products.

Since K-State entered into its current licensing agreement with Licensing Resource Group (LRG) in July of 2010, licensing royalties for the university eclipsed the $1 million mark for the first time in the department's history and have increased to over $1.5 million.

ICLA provides educational and networking opportunities, enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics, and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of collegiate licensing.
