MANHATTAN, Kansas – The Kansas State women's golf team overcame a brief rain delay on Monday morning to extend its lead to 13 strokes after the second round of the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational the par-72, 6,235-yard Colbert Hills Golf Course.
After morning showers pushed the scheduled start of 8 a.m., back to noon, the Wildcats shot an 8-over par 296 during the second round. K-State is paced by senior Connie Jaffrey, who holds a four-stroke lead in the individual competition at 6-under par 138.
Junior Chloe Weir carded a team best 1-under par 71 in the second round and maintained her second-place position at 2-under par 142.
