
Wildcats Look to Continue Success in Mississippi

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Coming off a tournament win in the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational, the Kansas State women's golf team looks to continue its success this weekend in West Point, Mississippi, at the Magnolia Invitational.
The teams will play 18 holes per day with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m., on Sunday, 8:30 a.m., on Monday and an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.
The Wildcats are led by senior Connie Jaffrey, who took the individual title at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational with a 6-under par 210. The Kilwinning, Scotland, native leads the team with a stroke average of 71.17.
"The ladies know they are playing well right now," head coach Kristi Knight said. "This is a new event for us. It is a course we haven't seen, but they are looking forward to getting back out on the road and teeing it up again."
Kansas State's lineup for the event will feature Jaffrey, sophomore Chloe Weir and freshmen Reid Isaac, Ella Adams and Niamh McSherry.
The Wildcats had three golfers finish in the top five in the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational. Weir finished in third place with a 2-over par 218, while Isaac carded a 5-over par 221 to finish tied for fifth place.
This will be K-State's first appearance in the tournament. The Wildcats will be joined in West Point by Auburn, Augusta, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Tennessee and Troy.
