K-State to Host Special Event for National Girls and Women in Sports Day

MANHATTAN, Kansas – As part of a season-long celebration recognizing Kansas State's 50th season of women's basketball, K-State women's athletic teams will host a free pregame youth clinic and panel discussion from 4-6 p.m., prior to the K-State women's basketball game against Iowa State at 7 p.m., on Saturday, February 3.
The pregame clinic is open to girls in the first through eighth grades and is scheduled to include representatives from women's basketball, volleyball, soccer, track & field, rowing and golf. All participants in the clinic will receive a free water bottle and a free general admission ticket to the women's basketball game.
As part of the event, girls in grades five through eight will hear a panel discussion featuring current K-State student-athletes, administrators and coaches, as well as former K-State women's basketball All-American Kendra Wecker and Cori Pinkett from Women Leaders in College Sports. Topics will include athletics, leadership, self-esteem, bullying and more.

All tickets for the Big 12 matchup with the Cyclones are available for just $1, which includes all available seating in the chairbacks, reserved bench and general admission seating areas of Bramlage Coliseum. Designated concession items will be sold for just $1, including: pretzels, popcorn and candy, which will be available at all of the main concession stands on the Bramlage concourse.
At halftime of the game, fans will be entertained by Christian and Scooby. They have performed on America's Got Talent and at several college and professional basketball arenas across the nation.
Kansas State has been led in the 2017-18 season by the junior Kayla Goth and sophomore Peyton Williams. Goth leads the Wildcats in scoring with 16.7 points per game and assists with 6.3 per game. Williams is second in scoring with 13.1 points per game on a .547 field goal percentage, while also pulling in 6.9 rebounds.
