MANHATTAN, Kan. – Junior-college transfer Drew Mount became the first player in Big 12 history to earn Newcomer of the Week in three consecutive weeks and Will Brennan was selected as the league's Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday,
Mount was also listed as one of 10 of Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week, the publication released on Monday, and was named National Player of the Week by NCAA.com.
Brennan posted back-to-back four-hit games while Mount became the first Wildcat to hit two grand slams in a game since 1994 in helping K-State (10-5) to a series win over Mercer as part of a 3-1 week. The Cats have won 10 of their last 12 games overall.
Mount, in his first season at K-State after transferring from De Anza College, drove in eight runs in Friday's 12-3 win, most in a game by a K-State hitter since 2006. The Cats' cleanup hitter registered 13 RBI during the week and currently leads the nation with 29 runs batted in on the season.

The Santa Clara, California, native leads or is tied for the conference lead in six different offensive categories, including an .870 slugging percentage, and earned league recognition for the third time in the first four weeks of the season, equaling the most single-season honors by one player since the award's inception in 2011.
Brennan, a sophomore from Stilwell, Kansas, earns his first Player of the Week honor after being named Newcomer of the Week twice during his freshman all-America campaign. The Wildcats' leadoff hitter turned in consecutive four-hit outings against Mercer over the weekend in extending his on-base streak to 38 games, tied for the longest active streak in the country.
Brennan recorded nine base hits, three doubles, and five RBI as he hit .600 with a .667 on-base percentage over four games during the week. He upped his season hit total to 33 and his season average to .493.
