MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State senior women's golfer Connie Jaffrey picked up 2017-18 Academic All-Big 12 honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
The Kilwinning, Scotland, native was named to the second team having earned a GPA between 3.00 and 3.19 either cumulative or over the previous two semesters. She was the lone K-State representative as the four Wildcat freshmen are not eligible in their first year of residence.
This is Jaffrey's second-consecutive Academic All-Big 12 honor as she took home first-team accolades her junior year.
Along with being successful in the classroom, Jaffrey has been solid all season with a team-best stroke average of 72.48, six top-10 finishes and two tournament titles as she enters the Big 12 Championship ranked 59th nationally in the latest Golfstat rankings. The senior ranks highly in many all-time categories as well, including victories (second), top-five finishes (second), lowest 54-hole score (second) and lowest 18-hole score (third).
The Wildcats will compete in the 2018 Big 12 Championship, Friday through Sunday, at the par-72, 6,215-yard Dallas Athletic Club in Dallas, Texas.
