MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State senior women's golfer Connie Jaffrey was one of 24 players nationally to earn an individual bid into the 2018 NCAA Women's Golf Regionals, the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Selection Committee announced Wednesday evening.
Jaffrey, who will be making her second-straight regional appearance, was selected as the No. 1 seed among individuals in the Madison (Wisconsin) Regional, which will be held May 7-9, at the University Ridge Golf Course.
"It is pretty exciting," Jaffrey said. "It is always a good feeling when you go to regionals. It is an achievement after the whole season. It is what I worked for."

Along with making her second-straight appearance, Jaffrey has also stretched K-State's streak of having at least one representative in postseason play to four-consecutive years to tie the program record (2001-04). Madison Talley was selected as an individual in both 2015 and 2016, while the Wildcats advanced as a team to the NCAA Athens Regional a year ago.
"I am always proud of representing K-State," said Jaffrey. "It is a college that I definitely felt a part of the family, and that is K-State's motto. It is definitely important to represent my college in regionals. It means that our program is strong and hopefully more players will be encouraged to come to K-State."
Jaffrey's field will consist of five other individuals in the Madison Regional in second-seeded Pinyada Kuvanum (Toledo), third-seeded Pun Chanachai (New Mexico State), No. 4-seed Elsa Moberly (Eastern Kentucky), No. 5-seed Erin Harper (Indiana) and No. 6-seed Cara Basso (Penn State).
Ranked 63rd in the nation according to Golfstat, Jaffrey led the Wildcats during the 2017-18 season in stroke average at 72.66. She also led the team in rounds even or under par (16), average strokes per round behind the leader (3.03) and percentage of rounds counted toward the team score (100 percent).
A native of Kilwinning, Scotland, Jaffrey also led the team in wins (2) along with top-10 (4) and top-20 (4) finishes this season.
The NCAA Tournament is comprised of 72 teams and 24 individuals. Each regional consists of 18 teams and six individuals. The top six teams and three individuals not on an advancing team from each region will compete in the 2018 NCAA Championship, held May 18-23, at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
