
Wildcats Place 35 Individuals on Academic All-Big 12 Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. – 35 members of the Kansas State track and field team earned recognition on the 2018 Academic All-Big 12 Team, the league office announced on Wednesday, including 28 first team selections and seven second team selections.
In total there were 20 selections from the women's team and 15 selections from the men's team. Junior Morgan Coffman (Life Sciences) and redshirt freshman Cayli Hume (Nutritional Sciences) headlined the selections as first team selections with 4.0 GPAs.
There were four individuals who earned their third Academic All-Big 12 selection, including seniors Jeff Bachman, Kayla Doll, Janee' Kassanavoid and Megan Vanderpool, while nine individuals earned their second Academic All-Big 12 honor including, Brett Bachman, Morgan Coffman, Mitch Dixon, Colton Donahue, Ranae McKenzie, Brett Neelly, Sam Oxandale, Keiteyana Parks and Emma Wren.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Seniors who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a GPA of 3.20 or better, while the second team selections hold a GPA of 3.00 to 3.19.
In total, 346 individuals were selected to the Academic All-Big 12 Track and Field Team, including 283 first-team selections and 63 second team selections.
