MANHATTAN, Kansas -  Kansas State (3-0-0) will embark on its first road trip of the 2018 season, as the Wildcats make a two-match swing through northern California to face (9) Santa Clara on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. (CT), and San Jose State on Sunday at 2 p.m. (CT).

• Both matches will be broadcast on 101.5 KROCK in Manhattan and for free at kstatesports.com.
• For the first time, K-State is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches top-25 poll. The Wildcats received seven votes in the August 28 poll.
• This weekend will be a homecoming for the six Wildcats on the K-State roster from the state of California: Emily Crain, Mikayla Edwards, Krista Haddock, Leah Kellogg, Emma Malsy and Aly Rocha).

Last Match in Review
• For the first time in program history, Kansas State has tallied its first three-match winning streak as the Wildcats defeated Drake, 1-0, on August 23. With the three home wins, K-State has matched its school record win total for home matches.
• K-State recorded the lone goal in the match in the 55th minute, as junior forward Katie Cramer buried a free kick from 30 yards. Cramer leads the team in goals (2) and points (5) this season.
• The goal was the first off a free kick for Kansas State since Kim Braddock notched the first in program history against South Dakota on September 25, 2016.
• K-State redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Emma Malsy pocketed her third straight shut out in her third career start with the Wildcats. Malsy owns the school record for consecutive shut outs and consecutive shut out minutes (270:00).
• The six goals in the three matches in August are more than K-State scored in the entirety of the month of August in the 2017 season (3) and just one short of the number of goals from August of 2016 (7).
• Defensively over the last 225 minutes of action, K-State has surrendered just five shots on goal, all saved by Malsy. Kansas State is the only team in the Big 12 to not concede a goal in the first two weeks of the season.

Santa Clara at a Glance
• (12) Santa Clara (3-0-0) have opened the season with three straight wins, recently defeating North Texas, 1-0, on Monday.
• On the sidelines, the Broncos are guided by legendary head coach Jerry Smith. Smith, in his 32nd year with the program, owns a 468-152-60 (.732) record and 27 NCAA Tournament appearances.
• Statistically, the Broncos have been led by Maria Sanchez and Maddy Gonzalez. Sanchez, a member of Mexico's 2015 World Cup squad, has one goal and five assists. Gonzalez paces the Broncos with three goals.

San Jose State at a Glance
• San Jose State (0-2-0), the preseason favorite to capture the Mountain West title, dropped a difficult 1-0 overtime decision at Portland on Friday, August 24.
• The Spartans will face Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, before hosting the Wildcats on Sunday.
• San Jose State is led by fifth year head coach Lauren Hanson. Hanson owns a 40-30-13 (.560) career record during her time in San Jose.
• San Jose State is led statistically by Jamilecxth Becerra and Jada Wilson. Becerra has tallied the lone goal of the season for the Spartans while Wilson has the only assist.

K-State vs. Ranked Opponents
• Kansas State has played just three matches in its brief history against United Soccer Coaches ranked opponents.
• The Wildcats are 0-3-0 against ranked opponents, all coming in Big 12 action.
• K-State has two opponents ranked among the top-10 in the United Soccer Coaches poll, both ranked ninth (West Virginia, Sept. 29, 2017; Texas, Oct. 15, 2017).

Offense Emerging for Wildcats
• K-State has found its offensive rhythm early in the 2018 season, continuing a trend from the final three matches of 2017.
• Over the last six matches, Kansas State has registered 86 total shots including 44 on goal. The Wildcats have scored 10 goals in the six matches (1.7 goals per game).
• The six straight matches with a goal set a school record for consecutive matches with a goal.
• Entering the 2018 season, Kansas State returned 100 percent of the goals scored and 98 percent of the total points from the 2017 season.

Better Late than Never for K-State
• Kansas State has established itself as a second half team during its two-plus seasons of action.
• In total, Kansas State has scored 28 of its 40 total goals in the second half of matches.
• In 2017, K-State scored 18 total goals with 11 coming in the second half or overtime. The Wildcats fired off 125 of their 221 total shots in the second half or overtime, while also registering 51 of the 83 corner kicks in the second half or overtime.
• In total, Kansas State has scored 10 of the program's 40 goals (25.0 percent) between the 61st and 75th minutes.

Malsy Spotless Between the Pipes
• Following a season on the sideline, redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Emma Malsy stepped in frame for K-State and pocketed three shutouts during K-State's three-match home stand to open the season.
• Against Saint Louis on August 17, Malsy made her first start since October 23, 2016, at Oregon, when she was a freshman at Arizona State. She tallied four saves including a pair of clutch efforts in the first half and send K-State to a 1-0 win. It was her first collegiate win since October 6, 2016, against Washington.
• This was the first shut out win for K-State since October 6, 2017, at Kansas.
• Malsy tallied her second shut out of the weekend with a pair of saves in the second half against Oakland on August 19.
• The product of Westminster, California, is the first goalkeeper in program history to register a pair of shut outs in the opening weekend of the season.
• Malsy owns a career collegiate record of 6-4-1 and has five career shutouts.

Cramer Achieves Career-high for Goals
• Junior forward Katie Cramer owns the ultimate piece of K-State soccer history and has added to her career goals total early in the 2018 season.
• The product of Goddard, Kansas, leads the Wildcats in goals (2) and points (5).
• In K-State's win over Drake, Cramer registered her first career game-winning goal. She scored on a free kick from 30 yards. It was the first free kick goal by K-State since September 25, 2016.
• Cramer set a new career season-high for goals and tied her career-high for points in a season.
• Against Oakland, she gathered a ball just short of midfield. She proceeded to drive toward the net, put the ball through a Golden Grizzlies defender's legs at the 18-yard box, deflect the ball off the keeper and then tap in the loose ball from 3 yards away.
• In the 76th minute, Cramer found Christina Baxter for a one-timer at the top of the penalty area. It was the fourth career assist for Cramer.
• Her three points against Oakland were a new career-high and tied for second in program history for a single match. She is the sixth player in program history with three or more points in a match.
• In 2017, Cramer set a career-high with five points with a goal and career-best three assists. She ranked second on the team in assists and led the team in assists in Big 12 action with two.
• She notched the first assist in Big 12 play for Kansas State, providing the helper on Ashley Zane's goal. She also assisted on Hannah Davis's game-winning goal at Kansas on Oct. 6.
• Cramer scored the first goal in program history, converting directly on a corner kick against Saint Louis on August 19, 2016.
• For her career, Cramer ranks tied for second in program history for goals (4) and points (12) and is fourth in assists (4).
