Cross Country Prepares For Big 12’s at Bradley Classic

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State’s cross country teams will head to Peoria, Illinois, for their final race before the Big 12 Championships as they prepare to compete in the Bradley Classic on Friday.

The Wildcats will be running in the red race, competing against a field that includes Creighton, Missouri and Nebraska. The men’s 8K race is set to begin at 4:25 p.m. CT, followed by the women’s 6K, which starts at 5:05 p.m. CT.

“It has been three weeks since we last competed.  Training has been going well since our last meet and therefore, I am looking forward to seeing the athletes put together a good race on Friday,” head coach Ryun Godfrey said. “We should have a tight pack on the men’s side and on the women’s side. I am hoping we can close the gap with our fifth and sixth runners, improving from where we were at the Cowboy Jamboree.”

K-State’s last race was on September 26, when the teams competed at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The men took fourth in the race, while the women finished in fifth.

Junior Morgan Wedekind posted her second top-5 finish in the contest, finishing in 5th place with a time of 21:26.9. Sophomore Colton Donahue posted the highest finish on the men’s side, taking 10th with a time of 25:23.1.
