MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State cross country team travels to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to race in the Big 12 Championships at the OSU Cross Country Course on Saturday. The men’s 8k begins at 10 a.m. CT, followed by the women’s 6k at 11 a.m. CT.

This will be the second time the team has raced at the OSU Cross Country Course this season, the first coming on September 26 at the Cowboy Jamboree. The men’s team finished in 4th place in the race and the women’s team took 5th place.

Head coach
Ryun Godfrey is looking for a strong finish to the season and hopes to see improvement from the first time his team raced at this course.

“I am really proud of the way this team has worked this season,” Godfrey said. “They have made some big improvements from last year. Every athlete on this team is better now than they were a year ago.”

Morgan Wedekind looks to continue her impressive run of top-5 finishes, with three on the season, including a 2nd-place finish at the Bob Timmons Classic on Sept. 1. Sophomore Colton Donahue also looks to continue his strong season, which included a season-best 5th-place finish at the Bob Timmons Classic.

“I hope we can finish out what we have started this season,” Godfrey added. “It is going to be one of those moments tomorrow at the starting line where they need to reflect back on their hard work and just go out and do what they have been training to do.”
