Dibbini Adds Anderson, Kalkofen to 2016 Roster

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women soccer head coach Mike Dibbini continued to construct his inaugural roster on Wednesday, as the program has added Jade Anderson and Megan Kalkofen for the 2016 season.

Anderson, a center midfielder, joins K-State after two seasons at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, California, and helped the Hawks to a 32-4-5 overall record in her two seasons, including a pair of Orange Empire Conference titles. At the end of an 18-3-2 season in 2015-16, Anderson was named an All-OEC First Team selection, an All-South Region honoree, an All-State recipient and NSCAA Division III Second Team All-West Region honors.

“Jade brings experience at the defensive center midfield position and a good manager of the game,” said Dibbini. “Jade is a very mature player and her leadership ability will help us grow. We are extremely excited to have her join the program.”

In her prep career, Anderson, who is originally from Placentia, California, was a four-year letter winner with El Dorado High School, where she was named All-Century League First Team in 2013 and an All-Century League Second Team member in 2014.

Kalkofen, a defender, joins Kansas State after spending the 2015 season with the co-Big Ten champions, Wisconsin. A native of Wheaton, Illinois, Kalkofen emerged as a four-star rated prospect by TopDrawerSoccer.com and played year round with her club team, Eclipse Select.

“Megan brings an important presence in a much needed position for us,” stated Dibbini. “She has very good experience playing at the highest level of club and collegiate soccer. She understands what it takes to play at the level and with her athletic ability would help make an impact for our very young program early on.”

She served as a captain for Eclipse Select 96-97 from 2009-13 and helped the team to a pair of national championship finals, including the 2011 U.S. Youth Soccer Nationals and the 2014 ECNL Nationals. She also helped Eclipse Select 96-97 to two ECNL Midwest Conference titles in 2012 and 2014 and the 2011 U.S. Youth Midwest Regional Championship. Kalkofen was on the backline for four Illinois State Cup Championship teams in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2014.
