Dibbini Adds Four to 2016 Roster

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s soccer head coach Mike Dibbini continued to round out his inaugural roster, as the program has added four student-athletes for the 2016 season.

The four freshmen to join the 2016 roster are: Olivia Covert (Huntington Beach, California), Bridget Howard (Leawood, Kansas), Emily Jones (Overland Park, Kansas) and Taylor Rasmussen (Orange, California).

“We are excited to add four more student-athletes to our 2016 roster,” said Dibbini about the latest additions. “With these four additions it allows us to have a more competitive environment and the ability to have more depth on our roster."

Covert is a defender from Huntington Beach High School. She helped the Oilers to the first Sunset League title in school history with a record of 12-4-6 during the 2015-16 season. While aiding the team to the league crown, Covert received All-Sunset League First Team honors.

Howard is a midfielder from Blue Valley High School in Stilwell, Kansas. Over the last two seasons, Howard has tallied 18 goals and seven assists for the Tigers. She earned All-Eastern Kansas League (EKL) First Team honors in 2015 and was an honorable mention All-EKL selection in 2014 while helping the squad to a regional runner-up finish.

Jones is a goalkeeper from Blue Valley North High School. In the previous three seasons, Jones has helped the Mustangs to a 32-20-4 overall record and a state runner-up finish in the 2013 season. In her career, Jones owns 16 shutouts including eight clean sheets in the 2013 season. She was named the EKL Goalkeeper of the Year in 2013, an All-State Second Team recipient and has garnered All-EKL First Team and honorable mention honors in her career.

Rasmussen is a defender and midfielder from Canyon High School in Anaheim, California. Rasmussen is a three-year letter winner that has helped the Comanches to an overall record of 38-27-10 and reached the second round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs all three seasons. She garnered All-CIF First Team and Al-County First Team honors in 2015, an All-CIF Third Team honor in 2014 and was a two-time All-Crestview League First Team selection.
