Dibbini Signs 16 to NLIs for Inaugural Season

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s soccer head coach Mike Dibbini continues to fill out his inaugural roster, as he has signed 16 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent.

The 16 student-athletes to join the 2016 roster are: Baylee Bedard (Fort Collins, Colorado), Grace Brennan (Edmond, Oklahoma), Tania Chassot (Murten, Switzerland), Maddi Cipolla (Lee’s Summit, Missouri), Katie Cramer (Wichita, Kansas), Dora Gallo (Wichita, Kansas), Laramie Hall (Edmond, Oklahoma), Morgan Hensley (Blue Springs, Missouri), Emma Jacobs (Parkland, Florida), Caroline Kemme (Allen, Texas), Allie Luna (Southlake, Texas), Madalyn Russell (Kansas City, Missouri), Steinunn Sigurjónsdóttir (Reykjavik, Iceland), Georgia Weigel (Leawood, Kansas), Andi Wenck (Waterford, Wisconsin) and Ashley Zane (Wichita, Kansas).

The 16 signees join the current roster of seven to bring the total roster to 23. The seven players that are currently on the roster used a redshirt season in 2015 to prepare for the upcoming 2016 season.

“The staff and I are very excited about announcing the 2016 recruiting class,” stated Dibbini about his new additions. “This is a group of quality young women, both on and off the field, a group that should integrate nicely with our returning roster of players. We filled several areas offensively, defensively and in the net. It should be a great group to work with, a group that is coachable and committed. We are looking forward to training camp in August and excited about the future of our program.”

Bedard is a defender from Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. She helped the Lobos to an 11-5-1 record in 2015 and helped her team hold opponents to 18 goals in 17 matches while scoring two goals and pocketing an assist. She garnered All-Front Range League Honorable Mention honors in 2015. She also plays club soccer from Arsenal Colorado and was recently named the 2016 Arsenal Colorado 2016 Girls Player of the Year.

Brennan is a defender for Edmond North High School. She has helped the Huskies to an overall record of 35-12 with five career goals and 24 shutouts. Brennan aided the program to three straight District 6A titles, two Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference (COAC) titles, two state semifinal appearances and one state quarterfinal bid. She garnered 2015 All-City Second Team honors from NewsOK.com, a two-time All-District 6A selection and was named the 2015 Central Oklahoma Defensive Player of the Year.

Chassot is a goalkeeper who joins the Wildcats with international action on her resume, as she has played for Switzerland’s U16, U17 and U19 national teams. She was a member of the 2014-15 UEFA European Women’s U19 Championship team and on the 2012-13 UEFA European Women’s U17 Championship squad. She helped Gymnasium Neufeld win the U18 national title in 2011 and earned Goalkeeper of the Tournament honors.

Cipolla is a midfielder/defender from Lee’s Summit West High School in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She has played for the Titans since 2013 and helped the program to an overall record of 39-24-3, a 2013 Suburban Conference title and a district crown, and led the squad in goals scored in 2014 and 2015. She has garnered several honors during her prep career, including: 2015 Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association (MHSSCA), 2015 All-Class 4 Kansas City Second Team, two-time All-Suburban Conference selection and a 2014 MHSSCA All-Class 3 Kansas City Third Team.

Cramer is a forward from Wichita Northwest High School. She has been a stellar scorer in her prep career, as she has tallied 56 goals and 10 assists in two seasons of action, including a school record 44 goals in the 2015 season while leading the team to a second place finish in the Greater Wichita Athletic League. In 2015, Cramer was a Kansas Coaches Association (KCA) All-State 6A Second Team selection, a Class 6A All-Region recipient and earned 2015 All-Greater Wichita Athletic League (GWAL) League Second Team honors.

Gallo is a midfielder from Wichita North High School. As a three-year letter winner, she has tallied 59 goals and 29 assists. She is a two-time All-GWAL First Team selection, a 2013 All-GWAL Honorable Mention honoree and was a member of the 2014 KCA All-State Class 6A Second Team.

Hall is a forward for Edmond Memorial High School who has led the Bulldogs in goals scored (32) and assists (19) over the last two seasons. She has helped Edmond Memorial to an overall record of 26-6-0 over the last two seasons, which saw the Bulldogs achieve a Class 6A state runner-up finish in 2014 and a Class 6A state quarterfinal appearance in 2015. Hall is a two-time All-City selection by the Daily Oklahoman including a first team honor in 2015, a two-time All-District selection and a 2015 Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference First Team honoree.

Hensley is a forward from Blue Springs High School in Blue Springs, Missouri. As a member of the Wildcats, Hensley has aided the program to a 2013 district title, served as team captain in 2014 and 2015 and tallied career totals of 58 goals and 32 assists, which includes a high of 21 goals and 11 assists in 2015. Hensley has garnered the following honors and awards in her prep career: 2015 MHSSCA Class 4 All-State Second Team, 2015 MHSSCA All-Class 4 Kansas City First Team, 2014 MHSSCA Class 3 All-State Second Team, 2014 MHSSCA All-Class 3 Kansas City First Team and two-time Independence Examiner All-Area girls soccer team.

Jacobs is a center back from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. She has helped the Eagles to an overall record of 48-11-6 in her three seasons. Jacobs has recorded 16 career goals and 11 assists while helping the program to a pair of Region 5A appearances and a District 12 crown in 2014. Jacobs earned 2014 Broward All-County Class 5A-4A Second Team and 2015 Broward All-County Class 5A-4A Honorable Mention honors from the Orlando Sun-Sentinel.

Kemme is a defender and midfielder from Allen High School in Allen, Texas. She comes to K-State rated as the 12th best midfielder in the Texas Region by Top Drawer Soccer and played for the 18th-ranked club team in the nation, Solar Chelsea ECNL, according to Top Drawer Soccer. While playing for Alen, Kemme helped the program to a 38-16-17 overall record in three seasons, a No. 5 ranking in the Top Drawer Soccer national high school rankings in 2016, a regional quarterfinal appearance and a third place district finish. Kemme was awarded UIL Region II All-District 10-5A First Team honors in 2014 and 2015, as she helped Allen to its second straight UIL Regional semifinal appearance.

Kemme has been a member of Solar Chelsea Soccer Club in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) since 2012. She helped the team reach the ECNL Champions League playoffs in 2015. In her club career she has helped her teams secure three North Texas State Cup titles (2012-14), the Region III West Premier League titles in 2013 and 2014), secure the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League D1 titles  from 2011-14 and reach the finals of the USYS Region II Championships in 2012 and 2014.

Luna is a midfielder and forward from Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, Texas. She has helped the Dragons to an 83-9-3 overall record and a current national No. 1 ranking. She helped Carroll Senior to a Class 5A state final appearance in 2013 and owns career totals of 31 goals and 42 assists. In her career, Luna has earned All-District 4-5A First Team honors in 2014 and All-District 4-5A Second Team honors in 2013.

Luna also played her club soccer for Solar Chelsea Soccer Club in the ECNL, helping the squad reach the U18 Finals in 2014.

Russell is a midfielder from St. Teresa’s Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. She earned 2015 MHSSCA All-Class 4 Kansas City Third Team honors and helped St. Teresa’s Academy to a 22-2-1 overall record and a state title. In her freshman and sophomore seasons, Russell aided the Stars to consecutive state runner-up finishes.

Sigurjónsdóttir a defender from Reykjavik, Iceland, she also brings significant international experience to K-State’s roster as she represented Iceland at the 2012-13 UEFA European Women’s U17 Championship and played right back and center back for the U19 national team. While playing with her club team Breiðablik, she helped the squad capture seven Icelandic Cup titles from U15 to U19 as a midfielder and defender (2010-2013).

Weigel is a midfielder from Shawnee Mission East High School and has helped the Lancers to a 34-15-5 overall record with 16 career goals and 17 assists in the last three seasons. She helped Shawnee Mission East earn a regional finals appearance in 2015 by registering 11 goals and 11 assists. At the conclusion of the season, Weigel was selected to the 2015 KCA All-State 6A Second Team and an All-Sunflower League First Team recipient.

Wenck is a goalkeeper that has played her prep career at Waterford Union High School in Waterford, Wisconsin. Entering her senior season with the Wolverines this spring, Wenck has logged 15 shutouts in her prep career. She is a two-time All-Southern Lakes Conference First Team recipient, a two-time All-County First Team honoree, a two-time All-Area honorable mention selection and a two-time Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association All-State selection. In her club career with Red Star Soccer Club, Wenck owns a record of 62-17 with 25 clean sheets.

Zane, a midfielder and forward, played her prep soccer at Maize High School in Wichita. During her first three seasons with the Eagles, Zane helped the team to a 56-6-0 record and captured three AVCTL titles, three district crowns and a pair of third-place state finishes and a runner-up effort at state in 2014. Zane has registered 25 goals and 29 assists.in her high school career and was recognized as a 2015 KCA All-State 6A Second Team recipient and is a two-time (2013 and 2014) All-AVCTL honorable mention selection.
