K-StateHD.TV to Produce ESPN3 Broadcasts for NCAA VB Tournament

MANHATTAN, Kan. –  Kansas State Athletics has collaborated with ESPN to broadcast all three 2016 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship matches to be played at Bramlage Coliseum on ESPN3, K-State Athletics officials announced Wednesday.

K-State is hosting the first and second rounds of the postseason tournament, which gets underway Friday, for the first time since 2007. The Wildcats (20-9, 9-7, Big 12) will face Atlantic Sun champion Lipscomb (22-7, 12-2 A-SUN) at 7:30 p.m., following a 5 p.m. tilt between Ohio State and Missouri State.

“We are honored to once again partner with ESPN to provide production for these NCAA Tournament matches on ESPN3,” said Brian Smoller, K-State Athletics’ Director of Video Services. “It is another tribute to our outstanding K-StateHD.TV crew, largely comprised of students, our full-time K-State Athletics video staff, and wonderful partnership with the Division of Communications and JMC staff from on-campus. K-Staters should be very proud of the work these individuals have put in to make K-StateHD.TV a recognized source of TV production at the highest levels.”

Mitch Fortner will call play-by-play and former Wildcat Liz Wegner-Busch will serve as match analyst for all three matches that will stream live on ESPN3, WatchESPN and the ESPN app.

For K-StateHD.TV, established in 2011, producing the NCAA Tournament matches for ESPN3 is another indicator of its strong reputation within the broadcast industry. Last year, K-StateHD.TV produced 57 games for TV distribution, a number the Wildcats’ network expects to surpass during this school year. On top of ESPN3, K-StateHD.TV has produced broadcasts for FS1, Fox College Sports, Fox Sports Kansas City and Cox Communications.

Tickets are now available through the K-State ticket office. All-session tickets with a reserved chair back will be $15. General admission bench all-session tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth. K-State students can attend the matches for free with a student ID.

Parking will be free for all fans at Bramlage Coliseum and doors will open at 4 p.m. Friday.

Tickets are available at the K-State ticket office inside Bramlage Coliseum, by calling 1-800-221-CATS or online at www.k-statesports.com.
