From the Court with Coach Mittie

NEW FACES
We have many new faces this year that are just getting their feet wet in their first year of college practices or their first year at K-State.  All have made good progress in the early part of this season’s practices.  The next challenge is processing more information in the coming weeks.

EARLY SCHEDULE
This will be a big challenge for our team with an opening road game against Tulsa.  Two home games (Abilene Christian, South Dakota) and a road contest against defending National Champion, UCONN.  All in a tough 10-day span. 2015-16 Schedule

WILDCAT HONORS
Congrats to Breanna Lewis for being named to the preseason All-Big 12 team. Check it out here.

Congrats to Kelly Thomson on being named a Haier Achievement Award winner, given to student-athletes who have faced adversity, maintained academic excellence, and are active in the community. Read more about the honor here.

ICE, ICE, BABY
Sorry for dating myself with the Vanilla Ice references!  We are so thankful and proud to work everyday in the Ice Family Basketball Center.  Carl, Mary, and their family are such great people and wonderful K-Staters.  Also, thanks to all who gave to this very special building.

NEW RULES
Pay attention to the new rules as women’s basketball goes to four quarters, advancement of the ball in the last minute of games and fewer media timeouts.  It should be an interesting year.

See you in Bramlage on Monday night!
