FROM THE COURT WITH COACH MITTIE
Wednesday was a special day for all of America with Veterans Day! Thanks to my father and Shanna’s dad and uncles and all veterans for their service.
The Wildcat Family has made two great additions in Mercedes Brooks (Wichita Falls, Texas) and Peyton Williams (Topeka, Kansas). We are excited they chose the purple to wear and look forward to big senior years. Learn more about Mercedes and Peyton here.
Also, congrats to our daughter Madison on signing to play basketball at Fort Hays State University.
Thanks to K-StateHD.TV for the hometown features on Shaelyn Martin and Kelly Thomson. Great work by them and it was very interesting to see their hometowns. Also, congrats to Dan Thomson for beating Kelly in PIG or COW, and you even have it on video! (To see the series, click here & here)
TOUGH ROAD OPENER
Friday tips off the season at a quality opponent, Tulsa. It is only the 7th time in program history to open on the road and the first since 2008-09. Click here for the game preview.
Double-header with our men’s team on Monday. We tip off at 5:30pm. Hope you can get there early as our crowd gives our team energy.
Our student-athletes feed off of the excitement and enthusiasm from the K-State Family. If we encounter a deficit of 7 or more points this season, stand up in sync with the players on our bench and rally the team when they need it the most.
NEW RULES REMINDER
As you may have noticed during our two exhibition games in Bramlage this month, NCAA Division I women’s basketball has adapted a number of rules changes this season to improve the flow of the game. Be sure to check out this K-State Sports Extra from Kelly Stewart to learn more about the rules changes.
See You in Bramlage
