Opponent Quotes

Western Illinois Head Coach Leslie Crane

Performance from first half to the second half...

“Turnovers were the biggest thing. I’m not sure how many we had in the first half, but I know in the second half we didn’t do a very good job. Turnovers were the big key of the game. Really, that’s what we did as far as staying with them on the boards. They out-rebounded us I’m sure in the second half and I think that was a major part as well.”

On Junior Forward Katy Davenport...

“At Johnson County (Community College) she scored well on the floor. She’s still trying to figure out the Division I game. She’s catching on, she’s doing better, and I know that she’s learned a lot of things. She didn’t realize how big of a step it was going to be. Being the college coach that I am, I can tell them that they’re being hard headed. They just don’t realize that it’s a big step.”

Junior Forward Katy Davenport

On playing back in Manhattan...

“It was good. I’m glad I got to play back home one more time before I’m done playing.”

On being pleased with her performance...

“Not really. I think that as a team the team played really well together. People off the bench stepped up and played really well. Stephanie (Lovingood) had a great game. She took more shots than she had been. I was happy that the rest of my team stepped up and played really well.”
