Student-Atlhetes to Host First-Ever Tip-off for TP

Tip-Off for TP

Jan. 27, 2011

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State fans are encouraged to team up with Wildcat student-athletes and the Manhattan Emergency Shelter in the first-ever “Tip-off for TP” initiative prior to two upcoming basketball games.

To participate, fans are invited to bring packages or rolls of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags to the women’s game versus KU on Saturday at 2 p.m. and again to the men’s game against Nebraska on Wednesday, which tips at 7 p.m.

Collection bins will be located at each of the main entrances of Bramlage Coliseum as K-State student-athletes will be present when the arena doors open to assist with the collection of any in-kind or monetary donations.

Last year, MESI served over 885 individuals including families with children who are homeless or seeking assistance. Throughout the year, the non-profit agency is always in need of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags to better assist those individuals who utilize the shelter’s services.

Fans unable to contribute on game day can still help by bringing donations to the Manhattan Emergency Shelter, Inc. at 416 South 4th Street, between the hours of 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. seven days a week.
