Missouri Head Coach and Player Quotes

Head Coach Mike Anderson

On the game...

“I thought it was a great ballgame. Kansas State is probably just a little bit tougher than us at this point in time. You got a team that was returning quite a few guys. I thought they really took the fight to us in that eight minute stretch. We had our opportunities, Kansas State got a quick start and we battled back, we came out of the halftime and actually took the lead. But in an environment like this, in a game like this, it is going to be a game of runs. We just couldn’t make the plays when it counted.”

On the rebounding differential...

“Those guys are just quick to the ball. I think the difference probably is that we gave one or two efforts and they gave three or four. When you do that you are going to get some of those loose balls. I think that was the difference.”

Senior Forward Marshall Brown

On the play of Stefhon Hannah...

“He played well tonight. He usually plays well in situations like this, so I wasn’t worried about him coming into tonight. I knew that he was going to step up and play big for us.”

On Missouri’s defense...

“We missed our assignments. We were in a zone, so we should have been getting a lot of those rebounds and tip-ins. That is on us we just didn’t get it done.”

On the change in K-State’s atmosphere...

“You can tell the difference in the atmosphere here. Coach Huggins has the fans into it.”

Junior Guard Stefhon Hannah

On recovering from tonight’s game...

“This just motivates us to get better, to go back to practice and improve on our rebounding, defense playing together and everything.”

On K-State’s early lead...

“We came out ready to play, but they wanted it a little bit more than us. We kept our composure and got back in the game and were leading for a while but they came back and won it in the second half.”
