Postgame Notes

The Wildcats’ starting lineup Saturday afternoon consisted of sophomore Ashley Sweat, junior Shalee Lehning, senior Kimberly Dietz, sophomore Kari Kincaid and junior Marlies Gipson... Lehning started her 83rd consecutive game and Kincaid her 11th, while Dietz marked her 79th career start (55th consecutive), Gipson her 71st and Sweat’s 41st... It marked the 11th-consecutive contest that the lineup was used this season and 11th overall... The lineup is now 10-1 with the loss.


The attendance at Bramlage Coliseum for the contest was 6,073... The crowd is the largest to see a Wildcat game this season... The previous high was 6,041 in Stillwater, Okla., as K-State defeated No. 14 Oklahoma State 68-63... The previous top attendance at home was 5,813 on Jan. 19th at KSU won the contest against No. 25 Colorado 67-60.


Baylor continues their streak of wins over the Wildcats, as it captured the sixth straight in the series... The Bears lead the series with an 11-9 record over the Cats.


K-State’s streak of 10 games, including seven conference wins, ends... The win streak sat as the longest since the 2003-04 season when the Wildcats won 11 straight and was the first 7-0 start for KSU in Big 12 history... K-State also lost its first home contest in the last 13 games... KSU is now 9-1 in Bramlage Coliseum this season.


Kansas State found themselves trailing 36-29 at the half... It marked only the seventh time this season to not have the halftime lead... Gipson led all scorers after 20 minutes with 14 points... She scored eight of K-State’s first 10 points and added three assists and two blocks.


The Bears jumped to their largest lead of the half at 13 with 5:26 on the clock and a 32-19 score... K-State was able to narrow the gap by going on a 10-4 run into the half.


Gipson paced the Wildcats with 14 points in the loss with all of her points coming in the first half... It marks the 13th time in the last 16 games that she has scored in double figures... She finished shooting 7-for-14 from the floor including connecting on her one three-point attempt... The junior also tied a season high in blocks with five... She also notched five in the win over Oklahoma State.


Gipson grabbed four rebounds for the Cats... She now has 515 career boards and moves into a tie for 21st all-time in K-State history... Gipson is tied with Andria Jones (1994-97) and passed Margo Jones (1976-78) who sat in 22nd place with 513 career rebounds.


Dietz also finished in double-digits with 13 points after going 5-for-11 from the field and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc... She has scored in double-figures in nine straight games and in 18 of 21 this season.


Lehning and Wheeler each registered seven rebounds against the Bears, grabbing 14 of the team’s 29... The total for Wheeler ties her season high which she also obtained versus Washington Nov. 10th.


Sweat scored four points to continue her streak of 55 consecutive games of scoring... Lehning finished the afternoon with six points and now has 40 consecutive scoring games.


Junior forward Danielle Zanotti did not suit up against the Bears due to an illness.
