Kansas State Player Quotes

Freshman Forward Michael Beasley

On the earlier loss to Missouri...

“I took that personally the loss in Columbia. There were a lot of things said that I didn’t like. I made it my business to help the team win.”

On if he was happy with his performance...

“I missed 10 shots. I could have done better, but it was a good game. I’m not complaining.”

On K-State’s intensity...

“Well our guys were great. They were relentless. We came out with a chip on our shoulder. We played with heart. We played together. We need to keep playing like that.”

On why K-State played so well today...

“A lot of work. We had a strong week of practice. We’ve got to keep practicing hard like we’ve been doing. Like I said, we just have to play together and play as a team, not as individuals.”

On bouncing back after losses...

“We took a couple of losses that we weren’t supposed to. We’re not proud of it. We just had to show everybody that our last loss was a bad game. It was just us being out of synch playing like freshmen. But like I said, we had a chip on our shoulder from the loss before and the loss we’re coming off. So we came out and played like men.”

On if it was nice to have a big lead in the second half...

“I don’t think we were playing with them. We were just having fun. We should have fun like that the whole game I think.”

On trying to avoid foul trouble...

“It’s impossible to avoid foul trouble. If you try to avoid foul trouble, then you’re not playing as aggressive as you can. I think you just have to play with it. It’s pretty hard to stay out of foul trouble when you are playing as aggressive as we were today.”

On if he can play this well on the road...

“I feel comfortable. Every ball weighs the same. Every ref refs the same. Just give me a court. I don’t care where I’m at I’m going to play my game.”
