Kansas State now leads the all-time series with NC Central, 1-0... With the victory, the Wildcats closed their non-conference schedule with a 12-3 record... The squad moved to 14-3 at home this season... The attendance in Bramlage Coliseum was 7,681.

 

The Wildcats’ starting line-up included sophomore guard Jacob Pullen, sophomore guard Fred Brown, sophomore forward Dominique Sutton, senior forward Darren Kent and junior forward Luis Coln... The Wildcats have used this line-up twice this season... K-State now has a 2-0 record with this line-up... Pullen has the longest active games played streak, seeing time in all 59 games in his career... He also has the longest active starting streak, along with Coln, at 26 consecutive games.

 

With the victory, Kansas State posted 18 wins or more in three consecutive seasons for the first time since the 1987-88 (25 wins), 1988-89 (19 wins), and 1989-90 (18 wins) seasons.

 

The win on Tuesday evening marked the Wildcats’ 12th 80-point scoring game this season, tying it for the fifth-most in a single-season along with the 1952-53, 1976-77, and 1987-88 squads.

 

The Wildcats ended the game with a remarkable 60.3-percent shooting from the field, their highest this season...  Besting the 59.7-percent they shot against Gardner-Webb on December 14th, 2008.

 

Kansas State out-rebounded NC Central 47-22 on Tuesday evening... It marked the 20th time this season the Wildcats have pulled down more boards then their opponent... The Wildcats did grab 14 offensive rebounds, converting those into 25 second-chance points... Luis Coln led the squad with 12 rebounds.

 

Sophomore Dominique Sutton led six players in double figures with 16 points... It marks the second time this season he has led the Wildcats in scoring... He also pulled down eight rebounds... The last time the Wildcats had at least six players in double digits was on January 5th when they defeated Chicago State.

 

Luis Coln posted his second career double-double...  He scored 12 points on Tuesday evening while pulling down a career-high 12 rebounds...  It marks the fifth time this season he has posted double-digits in scoring and the third time this season he has scooped up double-digits in rebounding... Ron Anderson also posted his second double-double on Tuesday evening, tying his season-high in scoring with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  

 

Buchi Awaji scored a career-high 12 points in the 21 minutes that he saw the floor...  He also had three rebounds, two assists, and one steal during the contest...  Fred Brown and Jamar Samuels also added 12 points.

 

Kansas State led for the seventh straight game at the half, 46-24... The team is now 17-2 when leading the half... It marked the 11th time this season that the Wildcats have held an opponent to 25 points or less in a first half... The Wildcats shot an impressive 62.1-percent from the floor, while playing solid defensively holding NC Central to just 28.6-percent from the field... Sophomore Dominique Sutton led the Wildcats with 10 points in the first half... Junior Luis Coln led all players with seven rebounds in the opening half.
