Frank Martin Quotes

Head Coach Frank Martin

On getting the win after last week’s lost...

“I told the team that it was that time of year. After the Kansas game you can’t be battling ups and downs and emotional highs and lows. We have played enough games this season to keep it at an even keel. That was the approach that we took and I was really happy with the energy that we came out and played with.”

On what the team gets out of tonight’s easy win...

“We had a lot of guys get the opportunity to receive more minutes than what they have been getting the last few games, which is needed. I thought we did a good a job as we have done all year with making the extra pass, moving the ball and getting into areas of the zone, looking to attack. Anytime you play a basketball game where you have more than 20 assists then you know you did something right. I was happy with what we did here today.”

On freshman being tired and home sick...

“That is something they all go through. In high school you have one good game out of every four you play, practices are not as competitive because you are so much better than the majority of the guys on your team. You get to college and practice at a high level everyday and the demands that are being put on you are greater than anything you have ever dealt with. Every time you line up to play a game the guy across from you is trying to rip you head off, especially in the Big 12. This time of year those young kids having to perform at this type of level puts a lot of pressure on them.”
