Kansas State Player Quotes

Senior Guard Claire Coggins

Thoughts on the game...

“Coach Patterson talked about Riley’s game tonight and Green and those were the two main focuses all week in practice. They came to play and they have good players. They have a lot of speed at the point position. I don’t want to say it’s too much for any team to handle. Riley, as a freshman, has a lot of confidence. It reminds me of Ivory Latta. They’re tough, they’re competitors. Just like coach Patterson said, we didn’t bring toughness and intensity, who knows what the game would have been like if it would have been different on that end.”

On finishing her career at K-State...

“It’s hard to lose your last game at home. However, I can’t say that it has been a disappointing ride through my career here. I’d like to thank the fans as well, they’ve been great all four years. It’s sad that it is my last conference game at Bramlage but it’s something I’m very proud of to say that I am a Wildcat. I loved every part of it; I love the atmosphere and I love the fans.”

Junior Guard Kimberly Dietz

On playing with Claire Coggins ...

“She’s an amazing person. When I was a freshman we were roommates and she took me under her wing and showed me the ropes. She’s an awesome player; playing with her on the court was a blessing. She’s just such a talented player; she’s a great player and this team is going to really miss her when she leaves. She brought so much to the court; not only her talent, just her as a person and her personality. She’s always so upbeat and brings so much energy. We’re really going to miss her.”
