Missouri Quotes

Head Coach Mike Anderson
Opening Statement...
"I thought that it was round two between Missouri and Kansas State. We played them early at our place and I thought that it was a defensive struggle for both teams. Not struggle, but two good defensive teams and I thought we saw some of the same today. Our inability to take care of the basketball and get to the free throw line was the difference in the game. We did those things at our place. You have to credit K-State; they did what they had to do to get the win."

On their defense in the first half...
"To hold a team to 18 percent, I guess the sad part about it was it was a tied game. Our inability to not take advantage of that... but you have to look at who was on the floor. Some of our key guys were on the bench. Our senior guards were on the bench, (Laurence) Bowers was on the bench. So Kansas State was able to hang around."

Senior J.T. Tiller
On how they allowed K-State to shoot only 18 percent in the first half...
"We wanted to come in here and really set the tone defensively. That's really what we've been practicing on and basing our team around. That's what we've really been progressing on."

On if the losses earlier in the day by Kansas and Kentucky provided more motivation coming into the game...
"Really we can't worry about any other team. We just wanted to come in here because we knew this was a very big game especially playing in the place where we are at. So we just had to focus on where we were going to come in and that was just enough motivation for us to come and play."

On K-State's defense being able to control Marcus Denmon...
"They are a very good defensive team. They play defense just like we do. Every night you're not going to go for 20 and I think this was just one of those nights for Marcus. But as a team collectively that's a benefit to our team that any given night somebody can step up."

Senior Keith Ramsey
On the 10-0 run that K-State went on to close out the first half...
"We just played unaggressive. We stopped attacking them and we weren't playing with each other like we normally do. We didn't have as many assists as we're used to having. We had nine and we usually don't play like that. We usually have 15 to 20 assists a game. "

On having played 37 minutes in the game due to losing Justin Safford to an injury last week...
"I mean it's tiring but you have to push through it. We practice like that every day so you've got to sacrifice something so you've got to go out there and play."
