K-State Player Quotes

Senior Forward Carolyn McCullough

On her time playing at K-State

”It has been a great year, a great four years. It is such a blessing to play with these girls and to have these coaches. I really think that the community has rallied around us we really appreciate that. Through thick and thin; even when we struggled, they were there. I’m so excited about the Big 12 tournament being in Kansas City and how our Wildcat fans will be able to follow us. We are so excited but first we have to take care of business in Lawrence on Wednesday. We are so excited for that game so we are going to work really hard in practice and get ready for it.”

Senior Guard Kimberly Dietz

On her shooting tonight as a mirror to her career at K-State...

“Yeah, I guess. I wish I could have made a little bit more. It is just a tribute to my teammates giving me good looks and great passes. Shalee (Lehning) sees me so well and can find me anywhere, so I get tons of shots from her and from our posts. They come to me; I take them and try to make them.”

On her senior season at K-State...

“It has meant a lot. Just going out with this win is icing on the cake just playing in front of our fans that love us so much. We love them and I appreciate every single one of them following our senior class all four years. It has really been the ride of a lifetime and I have loved everything about it. I have awesome teammates, we are all the best of friends and that has made this experience worthwhile. Seeing us come together our senior year and doing so well has been a blessing doing it with your best friends and your teammates and having coaches that believe in you so much is honestly, definitely a blessing. I’m thankful for everything. It’s been a ride and I’ve loved it.”

Junior Guard Shalee Lehning

On her adjustments playing Missouri a second time...

”It is always tough to play a team two or three times in a season, especially when you play a Big 12 North team. We come in and they know our tendencies. One time I did a spin move and I heard them say, That’s what she does every time.’ They know what I do. That’s the thing; we know what they do too. I’m just really proud of our team and really happy that we could send our seniors out with a bang.”
