Kansas State Offensive Player Quotes

Freshman Quarterback Carson Coffman

On his play...

“I feel like I did well. I had of couple of mistakes one interception. Overall, I felt like I managed the game led the While team to a victory.”

On his development during spring practice...

“At the start of spring ball I was more nervous than (my shoulder injury last year) than this game tonight. I was pretty lost. Now I have become a better quarterback I know my reads, so I feel a lot more comfortable out there.”

On competing for the starting Quarterback position...

“If I did anything less I would be cheating myself. I have to give it my best all the time.”

Senior Wide Receiver Jordy Nelson

On remembering tonight’s game...

“Probably for a week or so, but everyone will move on with it when we get into summer conditioning. It was just good to compete against each other and have some fun.”

On players that stood out in tonight’s game...

“Obviously, Carson did a great job out there. He was very composed out there. I think that he handled the situation very well out there. The White defense was good. We expected that with all the d-ends that they have. Overall, they had a good game over there. We just had some stuggles but I think that we will correct what we did wrong.”

On the importance of ending the game with no injuries...

“I would say yes. We just wanted to see what players can do in front of some people. It is very important to get everyone out of games and any practice or any scrimmage. I think we did pretty good for the most part.”

Sophomore Quarterback Josh Freeman

On his overall performance...

“I felt good coming into this game. We just couldn’t get anything going and I’ll put that on myself because I am one of the leaders on the offense. The guys looked to me and I had nothing for them.”

On the white team’s defensive play...

“Give credit to Rob Jackson. He’s a good player and put a lot of pressure on me, but that’s no excuse not to perform. I think we ended up with 1 yard of total offense. That’s definitely not what we expected or what we should have played like.”

Senior Tight End Rashaad Norwood

On the game...

“It didn’t go too well since the purple team lost. We have some things to work on, but the game was fun. Overall I would say that the game went okay.”

On the role of the tight ends...

“We will play as big a role as we did last year. We have a lot to do with blocking, running pass routes, and run blocking. We play a big role so we will need to play well.”
