Head Coach Bill Snyder Quotes

On Carson Coffman's play tonight on last drive...
"It is not just Carson, but offense and defense being able to finish that drive. I was a little worried after we ran it twice and got stuffed and that it was not going to happen (on last touchdown) but it did. A lot of things can happen that is why we always talk about the spring game differently. There are so many situations that can arise that you have to be prepared for and that was one of them. There were a lot of positive things that took place and that was one of them and there are a lot of situations that you might not get a lot practice on. ."

On Carson Coffman...
"He was alright. He threw the ball a lot and we let him call a lot of the offense for himself. We like to be able to do that in a spring game. He threw it half a hundred times but I thought for the most part he played well. If you think back a year ago in the spring game he had good numbers as well. You have to look at a lot of things outside of the numbers. He was in a lot of learning opportunities today and I think he responded to them very well and I was pleased."

On improvement in Carson Coffman...
"It is experience and more and more opportunities to do the things that he needs to do. Our offense took over 2000 reps in the course of the 14 practices this spring and he had more than half of them that is about 1500 opportunities that he had to improve his performance level. He is conscientious. Anyone of has that many opportunities is obviously going to improve themselves and I think that he did that.  "

On how Daniel Thomas improved in the spring...
"I think he learned more about the nuances about the position that he plays and learning how to slow down a little bit and finding the creases a little bit better."

On depth at running back...
"I think that we have decent depth there. Both of them (Powell and Rose) have proven during the course of the spring that they have a chance. Rose I thought did well also. He does not have the experience in the program but John (Hubert) does not either and that is a big factor, but as you can see that they have some natural capabilities."

On Samuel Lamur...
"With the White team initially he threw the ball around for awhile he probably did not have as much going for him working whites against purple. I was really enthused about his drive when he went in for the purple. On the other end we are probably doing something that we should not have been doing when he threw the interception. That is just one of those things where every single snap is as valuable as any could be. Sometimes you kind of get on a roll and lose focus and intensity and that is what I think what happened. I was pleased how he handles that period of time beside the interception."
