K-State Earns Excellence in Diversity Award

MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State athletics department was recently recognized for its efforts in the area of diversity as it was one of 12 schools nationally to earn an Overall Excellence in Diversity Award given by the Laboratory for Diversity in Sport at Texas A&M University.

Aside from the overall excellence award, schools were also recognized in individual categories as K-State received a Diversity in Athletics Award in the category of Racial Diversity and, a year ago, was lauded for its diversity strategy and compliance with Title IX.

Diversity in Athletics awards are presented on an annual basis to recognize NCAA Division I-A athletic departments that excel in the area of diversity. The awards are based on data collected from all NCAA Division I-A university athletic departments.
