219 Named to Big 12 Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas The Big 12 Conference released its Spring 2009 Commissioner’s Honor Roll on Friday with a total of 219 Kansas State student-athletes making the list.  The conference recognizes all student-athletes at its member institutions during the semester with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

                     

Of the 219 K-State student-athletes recognized for their academic excellence 50 of them posted a perfect 4.0 GPA in the Spring 2009 semester.

 

Rowing led all Wildcat sporting teams with 46 honorees on the honor roll, including 11 student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs.  Other totals by sport include equestrian (42), football (32), men’s track and field (25), women’s track and field (19), baseball (12), volleyball (11), women’s basketball (11), men’s golf (6), women’s golf (6), tennis (5) and men’s basketball (4).
