North Texas Player Quotes

Quarterback Giovanni Vizza

On the offense...

“We got off to a slow start and we just didn’t execute early on. On the series we did execute on we got some six and seven play drives and we just never finished them. It just came down to execution and we got off on the wrong track on the first two or three series and I think those next couple series we got on the right track but we never finished off the drive.”

On building from last year...

“When you come in with a mind-set to win, it’s tough to go home with a loss like this. All we can do is learn from the film that we’re about to watch in a couple days and try to get better and prepare for the next game. I still think there’s a lot to learn and a lot we can get better on. I think we did better than we have on previous openers. We just need to get better at executing our offense and get ready for Tulsa next week.”

On establishing the running game...

“We put in a couple different formations to give Micah and Cam a good opportunity to run the ball. We got the running game going after a while but I don’t know how much of a priority it was for us to get the running game going for us tonight. Cam did a great job, the O-line did a great job opening holes for him to run and he really ran hard and was able to break a lot of tackles.”
