Montana State Head Coach Rob Ash Quotes

On what he told his team after the game...

“I told them after the game that I did not know what kind of team we had.  It is a very strange feeling.  We had a big win and a big loss, and both of them were so lopsided that we do not really know a lot yet.  It is just difficult to know where to go from here because we do not know what type of ball club we have.”

On the team’s play...

“We did not play well in any aspect of the game.  After the first quarter, the wheels came off.  The last three quarters were a slow-dance to try to get the game over with.  After the first quarter, it felt like the dam burst, and it felt like everything that could go wrong went wrong.  (The first quarter) was one of the most bizarre quarters of football that I have ever been involved with.  It got K-State off to a great start.  I would love to start the game over again because I felt like our guys were poised and ready to play.”

On the special-teams struggles...

“It was a terrible performance by our punt-team.  That is something we obviously have to get fixed.  Give credit to K-State.  They have some great people and athletes on that unit.  They took advantage of a couple things and got us on our heels.  They did a good job.”
