Montana State Player Quotes

Senior Running Back Demetrius Crawford

On thoughts after the game...

“It was a tough game, I know we call came out the first half prepared to drive down the field but we made some mistakes.  I think that the mistakes killed us today.  I think we had a chance to win the game, the first half we were able to move the ball but the mistakes killed us.”

On playing close with Kansas State for the beginning of the game...

“It felt good; I don’t know if we let everything get to high for us.  It was a tough one it really does hurt.  It was the little stuff that we go over every day that we can correct to move on from today.”

On K-State’s team play and speed...

“It was too much, they were almost the same as us.  I just think they didn’t make mistakes basically.  I was watching games today and it seems that special teams had a major role today in most of those games and also turnovers.  Those are what hurt us today.”

On moving forward...

“Have a short memory.  We will watch film tomorrow and try and put this behind us and prepare for Minnesota.”

Junior Defensive End Dane Fletcher

On how tough this game was for the team...

“From about play two everything started to go wrong for us.  They came ready for their special teams a little more than we did.  It just spilled over on us, we just didn’t put an end to it and it got a little out of control. “

On affect game had on team...

“I felt that our defense matched up real well.  We had some flaws but I thought we had a very good game plan. And one thing led to another especially on special teams, I think they blocked two punts and that makes it harder because it is not the offense or defense making the mistakes. “

On Josh Freeman...

“He is a very big guy.  I give him a lot of credit he is big and hard to contain.  He tested us on containing him and we didn’t jobs on that.  I feel that most of it is my fault, I put it all on me.”

On next week...

“I just finished telling our defensive line that we can’t let this be a change to us.  It is over, and now we are moving on the Minnesota.  Now that we have played a Big 12 team we should be used to this for next week.   Going into Minnesota I can almost guarantee that it is going to be a different ball game. “
