Kansas State Defensive Player Quotes

Sophomore Safety Tysyn Hartman

On his two interceptions and performance tonight...
"The defensive line was putting on a good pass rush and everyone did their job in the secondary and it ended up with a good outcome. I think I did pretty well for the first game. There are a few areas that I need to improve on, I think I missed a couple tackles. I just need to go out and get better this coming week."

 On the defensive's performance...
"I think we did pretty well, but there are obviously areas that we need to improve in."

On getting the first game atmosphere behind them...
"We had a great turn out, a sell out. That is the first one I have been a part of here. I am glad we came out victorious and I am looking forward to this next week."

Senior Defensive End Eric Childs

On the offense's performance...
"No matter what they say the offense stepped up when they needed to. We are a family and we go out there together everyday to make each other better and we will do that to get ready for Louisiana next week. We had a lot of good stuff on both sides of the ball but there is always room for improvement."

On how the physicality of this game compared to last season...
"Compared to last season we have made strides. We are tackling better and we are running to the ball. There maybe some points here and there where we weren't but that is what next week's practice is for."

On why the momentum in the second half dropped off...
"I don't know what contributed to it but there were just some plays that didn't go our way. That is to be expected though, that is the game of football, it happens."

Junior Defensive Back Joshua Moore

On his performance...
"I think I could have played a little better. I did not play the way I wanted to, but I tip my hat to Tysyn Hartman, he had a good game and he is going to have a big impact on our team this year."

On the defense's performance...
" I think this is a performance we can build on. 17 points may seem good but if you ask anyone on the defense they will tell you that it is too many points to give up."
