MANHATTAN, Kan. -
Members of K-State’s Ahearn Fund have responded in record fashion as athletic department officials announced today that the September 17 Ahearn Fund Member Appreciation Day and Steak Fry is sold out.

“We appreciate the participation and commitment of all our Ahearn Fund members,” said Associate Athletics Director Chad Weiberg. “A record 1,400 Ahearn Fund members have confirmed their attendance for the appreciation event and we look forward to an exciting weekend, culminating with the Kent State football game.”

Due to the record number of attendees, the event has been extended from 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. and will now be held on the football practice field south of Cat Town, behind the Brandeberry Indoor Complex.

Ahearn Fund members and guests who met Wednesday’s RSVP deadline are asked to follow the road leading between Cat Town and the RV Christian Track Complex, and check in at the registration table to receive their meal ticket(s).

The day’s activities will be capped by the Wildcats’ 6:10 p.m. matchup with Kent State at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The game will be televised nationally by Fox College Sports.

A Wildcat 4-pack of tickets to the game is available for $75 and can be purchased by calling 1-800-221-CATS, visiting the K-State Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum or www.k-statesports.com./tickets. K-State is closing in on its second straight sellout and sixth in its last eight home games as approximately 1,500 tickets currently remain for the game against the Golden Flashes.
