K-State Offensive Player Quotes

Senior Quarterback Dylan Meier

On the offensive inconsistencies...

“Being inconsistent was present. We have to get the ball rolling more consistently and more smoothly throughout the game. The bottom line is that we got the win. I think at times we showed some flashes of being a good offense, at times we fluttered. Bottom line is we played good enough to win and we got the job done.”

On the running game...

“I have full confidence in our running game and we’re going to get it established. We’re still moving a few guys in and out up-front and once we get that established and get on a smooth pace, I think we’ll be fine. We like to say that the running game is the quarterback’s best friend but in all actuality, defense is the quarterback’s best friend. Anytime (the defense) can get the ball and give us good field position it’s my buddy. We have to get better at putting seven on the board instead of three once we get in the red zone.”

On penalties...

“Those are mental lapses that we can not afford to have anymore. Penalties will kill drives and we’ve got to be better.”

On evaluating his performance...

“I played alright like I said, we got the win. Some guys out there made tremendous plays once they got the ball in their hands. There’s plenty of room for improvement. We know we have to get better and I know I have to get better, we’re always striving for more.”

Senior Kicker Jeff Snodgrass

On the wind being a factor in the game...

“It really wasn’t a problem, we talked about it before the game. Going with the wind, or towards the north end zone, you could kick that ball from 70-yards out and it would fly in. We had the wind blowing sideways from about the north 30-yard line to mid-field and then from mid-field to the south 30-yard line we had the wind blowing in the opposite direction. You just never know what’s going to happen with the ball when it gets in the air.”

Senior Guard Greg Wafford

On the state of the team...

“As a team we need to focus on what we’re doing and listen to the coaches. Players, myself, everybody, we have to take it upon ourselves to do our technique right and focus and play football.”
