Marshall Head Coach Mark Snyder Quotes

Marshall Head Coach Mark Snyder

On the wind being a factor in the game...

“It was a big factor for both teams but it works both ways. They took advantage of it and took their shots down the field when they had the wind. I thought they had a good game plan for the wind they really did. The wind affects both teams and we both had to go against it. The bad thing is that we had the wind in the second and fourth quarters. We felt pretty confident. They gave us the ball both halves and they gave us the wind in the second and fourth quarters so we felt pretty good about that going into the game.”

On K-State’s use of tight ends and Rashaad Norwood...

“The way we’re built, the only way we have to stop that is by playing man and when we did that they threw a touchdown pass. We really had to pick our poison and we felt like if we made them go the long way then we’d have a chance to stop them. We knew we were going to give up five or six yards to the tight end because he was their leading receiver coming into the game. We were going to make them execute that pass.”

On missed opportunities...

“Well we had three turnovers and we were not very good on third down that’s not a very good combination. It’s almost disappointing. I understand third down when you’re going into the wind, but when you’re going with the wind you have to be able to convert those. I’m going to be honest with you, we didn’t make plays and we dropped some balls and you can’t win like that, not against a good team on the road and that’s a pretty good defense that we just played.”

On K-State’s defensive surprises...

“There was one new little wrinkle but it was nothing we shouldn’t have been able to handle. (Coach Prince) is a good coach, he’s going to have a new wrinkle every week, and they just did a good job. I thought our defense played decent, I really do. I thought both defenses were playing well. We had a blocked punt, they had a blocked punt. I thought it was a defensive game.”
