Wildcat of the Week

MANHATTAN, Kan. Rita Liliom of the K-State volleyball team was the lone recipient of this week’s Wildcats of the Week honor, announced on Tuesday morning by the Kansas State Athletic Department.

Rita Liliom continues to lead the Kansas State Wildcats and the Big 12 offensively with another strong week on the court. Liliom tallied 67 kills in four matches, including her third double-double of the season in a 3-1 win over Liberty in the Varney’s Kansas State Invitational. Liliom had 46 kills during the tournament and was named the tournament’s MVP. She averaged 4.79 kps for the week and 4.60 during the Varney’s Invitational. In Saturday’s match against Liberty, Liliom marked 18 kills on a .325 hitting percentage with 13 digs and four block assists. She started the week with 21 kills in a win over Cal State Bakersfield. Liliom had 16 kills in a sweep over Northern Iowa and 12 sweeping Cornell. Liliom has had double-digit kills in every match this season for the Wildcats.
